AEW: More on Jimmy Jacobs Hiring, Talks with Sean Waltman Update, New Dynamite & Rampage Shows

More on AEW’s Hiring of Jimmy Jacobs for Backstage Producer & Creative Job

As noted before, AEW recently hired former WWE and Impact Wrestling creative writer Jimmy Jacobs to a backstage producer and creative writer job in the company.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Jacobs officially started his new job with AEW at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show in Washington, D.C. Jacobs reportedly had finalized his deal with AEW over this past weekend.

In regards to Jacobs’ departure from Impact, Johnson reported that Impact officials had been aware for some time that Jacobs would be leaving the company. Jacobs reportedly officially finished up his duties with Impact following their Against All Odds 2023 event and fallout television tapings this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Impact President Scott D’Amore reportedly had informed Impact talent and staff in an email several weeks ago that Jacobs would be leaving the company.

In regards to Jacobs’ vacant spot in Impact’s creative team, Johnson reported that former Ring of Honor booker Hunter “Delirious” Johnston had been officially hired by Impact as a creative writer and producer several weeks ago.

Jacobs’ departure from Impact reportedly was stated to have been amicable and he had received high marks internally for working as hard as he did during his exiting process when he did not have to since he already had a job in AEW waiting for him.


More on AEW’s Talks with Sean Waltman for a Potential Appearance

As noted before, Billy Gunn revealed in a recent interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast that AEW had been in several talks with WWE Hall of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman to potentially bring him into the company.

Haus of Wrestling’s Nick Haus reported that his sources stated AEW had contacted Waltman to gauge his interest in potentially working for the company. Haus reported that the specific details regarding these talks are currently not known beyond AEW’s being interested in the potential of Waltman reuniting with Billy Gunn and working together as a tag team.

Waltman reportedly rejected AEW’s offer due to him not wanting to come in just for a one-off appearance in the company.

Haus reported that Waltman is currently in the process of getting back into ring shape and those close to him stated that they would not be surprised if he were to show up in the future in AEW.


New AEW Dynamite & Rampage Shows This August & September for Nashville, Georgia, & Colorado

AEW recently announced that they will be holding a new set of AEW Dynamite and Rampage tapings on August 16th at the Birdgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Tickets for this upcoming set of tapings were announced to officially go on sale starting on June 23rd.

AEW also recently announced that they will also be holding a new set of Dynamite and Rampage tapings on August 23rd at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Tickets for this upcoming set of tapings were announced to officially go on sale starting on July 7th.

AEW also recently announced that they will also be holding a new set of Dynamite and Rampage tapings on September 27th at the 1st Bank Arena in Broomfield, Colorado. Tickets for this upcoming set of tapings were announced to officially go on sale starting today.
