Ring of Honor announcer Ian Riccaboni reportedly recently signed a multi-year contract with AEW, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources confirmed that Riccaboni had recently signed a long-term deal with AEW for both AEW and ROH.
It was also reported that those spoken to stated that Riccaboni received heavy praise from both those backstage and from fans online over his performance on commentary during the July 15th AEW Collision show.
In regards to his signing, it was reported that Riccaboni had been working under his original contract with ROH that was one of the last original ROH contracts to last through Tony Khan’s purchase of the company.
AEW officials reportedly had originally offered a full-time commentary role for their new Collision series but Riccaboni had turned down the offer due to family-related reasons. Riccaboni reportedly was the person who recommended Kevin Kelly for Collision’s play-by-play spot instead.
Riccaboni reportedly is currently scheduled to work at the next four Collision shows due to Kelly’s current commitments in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s 2023 G1 Climax tournament.
