Wendy Choo Injury Status Update

As noted before, NXT talent Wendy Choo has been out of action for WWE since this past February due to an undisclosed injury.

NXT head booker Shawn Michaels held a media call on Thursday to promote this Sunday’s NXT Great American Bash 2023 event in Cedar Park, Texas. One of the topics discussed included Michaels providing an update on the current status of Choo’s injury recovery.

“Still coming along. Still rehabbing her injuries. Hopefully she will be back soon. We’re very good, as is our talent, very good about making sure they are 100% ready to go. My understanding is everything is progressing well, but she’s still a ways off before she will be seen in action.”

Titus O’Neil Comments on His Interest in Potential WWE Commentary Career

The July 17th WWE RAW show in Atlanta, Georgia featured Titus O’Neil joining WWE’s commentary team as a guest announcer for the Viking Rules match between Alpha Academy and the Viking Raiders.

A recent episode of the WWE The Bump show featured O’Neil as a guest. One of the topics discussed included O’Neil’s thoughts on his guest commentary work on the July 17th RAW show and his interest in a commentary career in the company.

” I love it. I want to do more, but I also am very understanding of the fact that it’s a very difficult job to sit there for three hours. I would have to stop drinking two gallons of water a day. But yeah, I want to learn the craft more, I want to do it more. I want to be more involved in every aspect of WWE. Obviously, being a WWE Global Ambassador is busy work in itself, but if I can add to the show in any way and also have a chance to see the beautiful faces of my WWE coworkers on a consistent basis, I’d love to do that. So commentary is definitely something I’m interested in doing more of, and I have a love of fun doing it. But it has a craft. I think a lot of people say, ‘Yeah, Titus O’Neil needs to be on commentary every week.’ Well, guys, slow down. Michael Cole, everybody that’s in the profession knows, it’s a very difficult job to do. You got so many things that are moving around. You got to make sure you’re not stepping on the person next to you and making sure you’re getting out certain information. Somebody’s got to call the match. It’s a lot. So I’m interested in learning more about the craft so that when I am on there, I’m not only entertaining but I’m also a real commentator.”

McIntyre stated “It was cool getting a break. There was a lot of rumors and headlines on the internet when I was out. Probably about 50 different things. It’s amazing, the stories out there when you’re not on TV. People talk. There might have been some smoke and fire with a few of them, but it was nice people were talking about me when I wasn’t there. I did have to get things fixed physically. Unlike injuries I’ve had in the past, there was no rehab involved, so I was able to enjoy time at home.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Chelsea Green gave her thoughts about how she and Sonya Deville would elevate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship as its current champions. Green stated ”
Honestly, we’re already doing it. Look at the way we look. Look at what we bring to the table. Star power. Period. All these other teams, they go out there, they’re mismatching. We come prepared, and we came prepared day one. One of our first tag matches ever is at WrestleMania. Who else can say that? I just feel like we come with more history and more backstory, and the element of being prepared.
