AEW Dynamite Notes: Three New Matches & One Updated Match for All Out, AEW World Title Contender Tournament Announced

Three New Matches & One Updated Match for AEW All Out 2023

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Hoffman Estates, Illinois featured three new matches and one updated match officially announced for the card of All Out 2023, which takes place on September 3rd at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced was an 8-Man Tag Team match of The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Juice Robinson, & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn)).

This match was setup following a backstage locker room segment that had been taped at All In involving the Young Bucks discussing their loss to FTR at the event. FTR entered the room and interrupted asking why the Young Bucks did not shake their hands after their match. The Young Bucks responded that it was just due to them feeling frustrated that they lost since All In was something they had created. Right before the Young Bucks were able to shake FTR’s hands to make amended, Bullet Club Gold interrupted and mocked the Young Bucks for being in the winner’s locker room since they lost at All In. After some back-and-forth banter, White issued a challenge to the Young Bucks and FTR to an 8-Man Tag Team match. Wheeler responded one upping the challenge by saying that it should take place at All Out 2023. Following the segment, AEW commentator Excalibur confirmed that this match was made official for the event.

The second new match announced was a ROH World Tag Team Championship match of Winner of #1 Contender Tag Team Battle Royal match vs. MJF & Adam Cole (c).

This match was setup following a taped backstage promo involving MJF and Adam Cole. While MJF was resting in the locker room after his match with Cole at All In for the AEW World title, Cole entered but before he could talk, MJF interrupted him to tell him that he was upset that Cole made him wrestle more than he’s had to in quite a while and for hurting his neck several times in their match. MJF also revealed that Tony Khan informed him that they will be putting their ROH Tag Team titles on the line against the winner of a #1 Contender Battle Royal match at this Friday’s Rampage show. After some more talk, MJF stated that he needs a week off so he’s going to Paris to eat a baguette and bang some rats before he comes back to hit a Kangaroo Kick and double clothesline to retain their ROH Tag Titles.

The third new match announced is a ROH World Television Championship match of Shane Taylor vs. Samoa Joe (c).

This match was initially setup on ROH TV following Taylor recently winning a tournament earning him a shot at Joe’s ROH TV title at a future date. During tonight’s Dynamite show, AEW commentator Excalibur revealed that this match would be taking place at AEW’s All Out 2023 event.

In regards to the new updated match, this is an AEW International Championship match of Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy (c).

This match was initially setup at AEW’s post-show media scrum following this past Sunday’s All In event. Cassidy had requested and was granted a title defense at AEW’s All Out 2023 show with Moxley being his opponent but only if he could successfully defend his belt against Penta El Zero Miedo on Wednesday’s Dynamite show. During his match against Penta on tonight’s show, Cassidy managed to retain his title after a very hard fought action filled match.
