As noted before, Santana has been out of action for AEW since June of 2022 due to a knee injury. Over the past several months, Santana has posted several cryptic videos on Twitter teasing his upcoming return from injury. In a recent update on AEW’s official roster page, both Santana & Ortiz were listed under their old tag team name of Proud & Powerful despite Santana having a falling out with Ortiz last year over issues regarding the directions of their careers.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Santana was recently medically cleared and is currently ready to make his in-ring return.
In regards to the issues between Santana and Ortiz, it was reported that they are still not on good terms with each other. It was reported that this had been the case for quite a while before Santana suffered a knee injury and it is not impossible that the two could work together again following Santana’s return.
In regards to Ortiz, it was reported that AEW officials are believed to currently have plans for Ortiz to have a spot at their upcoming All In event at Wembley Stadium. Ortiz reportedly had been scheduled for a booking with Limitless Wrestling this weekend but was pulled from the event. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Ortiz being pulled was due to an AEW-related obligation. Besides Ortiz, it was reported that there are currently several other AEW talents who will be flown to the United Kingdom who are currently not announced or booked for All In.
