WWE: Edge on Sheamus Match Being Last of His Current WWE Deal, Sami Zayn Injury Update, Trademarks

Edge Comments on Upcoming Match with Sheamus Being Last of His Current WWE Deal

ET Canada held a recent interview with Edge. One of the topics discussed included Edge revealing that his upcoming match against Sheamus at this Friday’s WWE SmackDown show will be the last match for his current contract with WWE.

“Here’s what I can honestly say, and this isn’t the answer everyone wants. I truly don’t know. I really really, with 100% truth can say I don’t know. That’s strange for me, but I don’t. I really don’t. I’ve put some thought into it, but not a lot. This is the last match on my current contract. I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. I probably won’t know until I get to the locker room that night and decompress, let all the anxiety and tension that I never used to have before I performed, I have now. That’s strange for me and makes it that much harder to do this. I’m going to be 50 in October. It’s not easy anymore. Before, what I used to take for granted to be able to do, now, there is a process and a fallout. There’s a lot. It’s the dream gig, but it’s getting really hard.”

Sami Zayn Injury Update

As noted before, the August 7th WWE RAW show featured Sami Zayn being attack backstage by JD McDonagh. During the attack, Zayn was seen sporting a visible injury on his elbow that was believed to be a bursa sac injury.

This past Monday’s RAW show in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada featured WWE officially confirming that Zayn is currently dealing with traumatic olecranon bursitis.

In a recent interview with the Out of Character with Ryan Satin podcast, Zayn provided an injury update about his elbow.

“I’ve had a lot of issues, I guess for a while that you’re just kind of battling through. It’s funny, when I watch sports, like hockey players or whatever, especially in the playoffs, after the playoffs are done, hockey’s particularly aggressive, the schedule’s grueling and everything like that. So once the playoffs are done, it’ll be like, ‘Oh, this guy was playing through a broken sternum and three broken fingers and a cracked tibia,’ or whatever, all these insane injuries that they’re playing through. But as a fan and as a viewer, I’m just watching, and I just assume everything’s fine. But I’ve been battling a lot of little nagging injuries for some time, but nothing to the extent that would put me on the shelf. So [my elbow] is part of a nagging injury that’s just kind of gotten a little bit worse after this past week’s heinous attacks by JD McDonagh, for which there will be revenge. But yeah, there have been some little injuries, but knock on wood, thank god, I’m pretty healthy overall. You start to think about this stuff a little bit more as you get older, and you’ve been doing it for 21 years, and you’re like, ‘Oh, there’s definitely not another 21 on the backside of this.’ So you’re definitely closer to the end than the beginning. So maintaining your health and addressing those nagging injuries, I think that’ll become more important. But I still managed to give you a long-winded answer to a very easy question. My elbow’s alright, it’ll be okay. It’s not great, but it will be okay.”
