AEW: Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley Injury Updates, Kris Statlander on Improving Promo Skills, New Shows for This Nov.

Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley Injury Status Updates

As noted before, Bryan Danielson suffered a broken arm injury this past June but was able to return to earlier this month while Jon Moxley has been out of action for AEW since last week due to a concussion injury.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Danielson stated that he was recently “fully” medically cleared for his upcoming match against Zack Sabre Jr. at this Sunday’s AEW WrestleDream event.

The match will be the first one Danielson will be fully cleared for after returning early from the broken arm he suffered against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door in June to face Ricky Starks in a strap match at All Out in September after CM Punk’s firing.

Danielson said he has had to do more violent gimmick matches, such as the Texas Deathmatch with Starks on Collision last week because it made it easier for him to protect his arm and because he likes wrestling different styles.

“Our doctors would still not like me to do certain things, but from like two weeks ago when I had the tag match the strength in my hand is coming back way faster than they thought it would, the mobility and all that stuff,” Danielson said. “I still have to be cautious probably for the next year or so. They put a steel rod in my arm. One of the things they said is that it actually makes it more likely to break not where it broke before, but where the end of the rod is. It’s like a fulcrum for the bone to bend against.”

In regards to Moxley, AEW announced prior to the start of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Broomfield, Colorado that he has not been medically cleared for an in-ring return.

Kris Statlander Comments on Current Goal to Improve Her Promo Skills

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Kris Statlander as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Statlander’s thoughts on her approach to doing promos and her current goal to improve her promo skills.

“I still feel very awkward on the microphone and speaking all the time. I just force myself to do it a lot more often so I have to get better at it. I know I’m not the best at it and I know I’m not any special talker and I don’t have the best vernacular, and my tone isn’t always great and I come off very awkward. I’m aware of all that, but I know the more that I do it, the better I’ll be at it.

You’d be surprised how socially awkward I can be. I know a lot of wrestlers and people in wrestling, and I’m more comfortable around them. It is what it is at this point. I just don’t care. I know I’m awkward, I acknowledge it, I own up to it, and it’s something I can’t control. One of the things with wrestling promos is you have to be yelling and passionate. I’m passionate, I just don’t feel like yelling right now.”
