Becky Lynch Defeats Tiffany Stratton for NXT Women’s Title

Tuesday’s NXT show featured Becky Lynch defeating Tiffany Stratton to be crowned the new NXT Women’s Champion.

The finish to this match involved Stratton setup a powerbomb onto the announcer’s table only for Lynch to wiggle her way to grab the ringside barricade to block it. Lynch then kicked Stratton causing her to roll onto the announcer’s table leading to Lynch hitting a leg drop off the barricade onto Stratton that did not break the table. After some more back-and-forth action back in the ring, Stratton hit Lynch with a Finlay Slam and attempted a Prettiest Moonsault Ever only for Lynch to dodge out of the way. This led to Lynch hitting a Manhandle Slam for the pinfall victory to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

As a result of Lynch’s victory, every member of WWE’s Four Horsewomen has managed to win the NXT Women’s Championship at least once and also become Women’s Grand Slam Champions during their WWE careers.

One Updated Match & One New Match Announced for NXT No Mercy, Updated Card

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured one updated match and one new match officially announced for the card of NXT No Mercy, which takes place on September 30th in Bakersfield, California.

In regards to the new updated match, this is a NXT Championship match of Ilja Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes (c).

This match was setup following Dragunov defeating Wes Lee in a #1 Contender’s match. The finish to this match involved Dragunov setting up a Torpedo Moscow only for Lee to counter with a knee strike. Lee was unable to follow through and fell while Dragunov fell backwards and bounced off the ropes to hit a H-Bomb forearm to the back of Lee’s head for the pinfall victory.

In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a singles match of Bron Breakker vs. Baron Corbin.

This match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Breakker and Corbin. Corbin came out first and gave a serious style promo over his shocked reaction over Breakker smashing in Von Wagner’s head with steel steps last week. Corbin then called out Breakker who came out in response and Corbin continued to say how he was upset over what Breakker did only to pull a fast one and said he actually enjoyed what happened to Wagner. Breakker quickly called Corbin an idiot saying what he did to Wagner was not for Corbin’s approval but instead of him basking in the horror of ending Wagner’s career. After some back-and-forth insults banter, Breakker challenged Corbin to a match at NXT No Mercy and followed it up with a brawl between the two. Later in the show, this match was made official during the card rundown read for NXT No Mercy.
