Ladder Match for AEW Tag Titles Match & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Buddy Matthews Announced for Full Gear 2023

Friday’s special Collision show in Los Angeles featured one new match and one updated match officially announced for the card of AEW Full Gear 2023, which takes place this Saturday at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a singles match of Claudio Castagnoli vs. Buddy Matthews.

This new match was setup following Matthews victory over Wheeler Yuta on the show. After the match, Matthews went out of the ring and grabbed a chair but before he was able to attack Yuta, Castagnoli ran out to put an end to his attempt. Castagnoli then gave a promo talking about his issues with House of Black in recent weeks and challenged Matthews to a match at Full Gear 2023, which Matthews accepted.

In regards to the new updated match, this was announced to be an AEW World Tag Team Championship Four-way Ladder match of House of Black (Brody King & Malakai Black) vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & RUSH) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c).

This newly updated match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Ricky Starks and Big Bill. Starks stated that he went to Tony Khan’s office about his and Bill’s upcoming tag titles defense and asked for the match to be made into a ladder match so that they could prove they are the best tag team in AEW.

Andrade El Idolo Announced for the Field of AEW’s Continental Classic Tournament

Friday’s special Collision show in Los Angeles also featured Andrade El Idolo being revealed as the next official competitor for the field of AEW’s upcoming Continental Classic tournament, which starts on the November 22nd Dynamite show.

This announcement was made during a backstage interview segment involving CJ Perry and Andrade. Perry stated that her client would be joining the field of AEW’s upcoming tournament, which Andrade eventually confirmed when asked by AEW interviewer Lexy Nair for his response.

Trent Beretta Wins #1 Contender Match for TNT Title on Friday’s Collision Show

Friday’s Collision show in Los Angeles also featured Trent Beretta defeating Penta El Zero Miedo, Komander, and Brian Cage in a #1 Contender’s match for the TNT Championship that will take place on tonight’s special live Rampage show right after the end of Collision.

The finish to this match involved Komander launching off the top rope for a high flying move only for Beretta to counter but catching him and hitting a Strong Zero for the pinfall victory to earn a shot at the TNT title later tonight on Rampage.
