AEW World Title Match, Red Velvet’s Return, & More Matches Announced for Nov. 8th Dynamite Show

Saturday’s Collision show in Wichita featured five new matches and Red Velvet’s in-ring return officially announced for the card of the November 8th AEW Dynamite show in Portland, Oregon.

This is an AEW World Championship match of Daniel Garcia vs. MJF (c).

This match was initially setup at Friday’s Rampage show following Garcia calling out MJF for a shot at his AEW World title. During tonight’s Collision show, a video aired featuring MJF’s response to Garcia’s comments and accepted Garcia’s challenge. Following the segment, it was announced that this match was made official for next week’s Dynamite show.

The second new match announced is a singles match of Swerve Strickland and Penta El Zero Miedo.

This match was setup following a backstage segment involving Alex Abrahantes, Strickland, and Prince Nana. Lexy Nair interviewed Abrahantes who talked about how Friday’s Rampage show hyping up Penta’s win and lucha wrestling. Strickland and Prince Nana quickly interrupted leading to Strickland saying that nobody cares about what happened last night and they should care more about his own victory earlier in the show. Abrahantes responded stating that what Strickland recently did at Hangman Adam Page’s house was not right and issued a challenge on behalf of Penta for a match between Strickland and Penta for next week’s Dynamite show. Later in the show, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone announced that this match was made official for the show.

The third new match announced was a singles match of Mark Briscoe vs. Jay White with White’s shot at the AEW World Championship at Full Gear 2023 being on the line.

This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Briscoe. Briscoe reflected about his Trios win on the show and stated that he is hungry for some gold in AEW. Briscoe then called out White and issued a match challenge with the stipulation of White putting his title shot for the AEW World title on the line at next week’s Dynamite show. Later in the show, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone announced that this match was made official for the show.

The fourth new match announced is a singles match of Red Velvet vs. Julia Hart.

This match was announced during the Willow Nightingale vs. Emi Sakura match on the show following a match graphic pop-up. This will be Red Velvet’s official return and first match in AEW since this past February due to an undisclosed injury.

The fifth new match announced is a ROH World Television match of Keith Lee vs. Samoa Joe (c).

This match was setup following a backstage segment involving Joe and Lee. Lexy Nair held a backstage interview with Joe about his recent interaction with MJF. Joe then stated that he has beaten everyone that has been put in front of him as ROH World TV champion. This led to Lee coming out to interrupt stating that Joe hasn’t beaten everyone yet. Joe responded saying that he is willing to put his ROH TV title on the line for a match between two at next week’s Dynamite show, which Lee accepts.

Jake Roberts Makes Return & Forms New Group with Lance Archer & The Righteous on Saturday’s Collision Show

Saturday’s Collision show in Wichita also featured Jake Roberts making his return to AEW.

Roberts came out alongside Lance Archer for Archer’s match against Darby Allin on the show, which Allin won.

Following the match, Roberts gave a promo stating that he never came to a fight with just one piece of artillery and that was not all he had in store for Allin tonight. Roberts then stated that he had some other guys he contacted to form a new partnership with himself and Archer and called for them to come out. These new guys were revealed to be The Righetous’ Dutch and Vincent. Vincent gave a promo directed towards Allin implying that they were the ones who attacked Sting some time ago. While Allin was distracted, Archer showed up from behind and gave him a Blackhole Slam and followed it with a Black Out knocking out Allin.
