Two New Matches & One Updated Match Announced for AEW Full Gear 2023

Saturday’s taped Collision show also featured two new matches and one new updated match announced for the card of AEW Full Gear 2023, which takes place on November 18th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California.

In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced is an AEW World Tag Team Championship Four-way match of House of Black (Brody King & Malakai Black) vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & RUSH) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c)

This match was setup following a video promo by House of Black. Brody King stated that they still have an issue with La Faccion getting involved in their business so Malakai Black had the idea of taking what La Faccion wanted the most so that La Faccion would have to chase them. King then issued a challenge to Ricky Starks & Big Bill for their AEW World Tag Team Championship at Full Gear 2023. In a follow-up segment later in the show, AEW backstage interviewer Lexy Nair asked for Starks and Bill’s thoughts about House of Black, FTR, and La Faccion all gunning for their titles and each laying a claim for a title shot at Full Gear 2023. Starks and Bill stated that they did not care since none of those teams were worthy only for Nair to interrupt stating that AEW CEO Tony Khan made it official that it would be a Four-way match for their belts. An angry Starks responded stating that he was upset he never gets told ahead of time of things involving his and Bill’s titles.

The second new match announced is an AEW Women’s World Championship Three-way match of Julia Hart vs. Red Velvet/Skye Blue vs. Kris Statlander (c).

This match was initially setup following a promo video by House of Black. During her turn to speak, Hart called out Statlander and stated that she wanted a rematch for Statlander’s TBS title at Full Gear 2023. In a follow-up backstage segment, Lexy Nair interviewed Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale for their thoughts about Statlander’s TBS title defense at Full Gear. Nair revealed that Statlander will be defending her title in a three-way match and confirmed that the winner of Hart vs. Willow Nightingale and the winner of Red Velvet vs. Skye Blue would be her challengers for the match.

In regards to the new updated match, this is a Texas Death Match of Hangman Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland.

This newly updated match was setup following a backstage promo by Page. During his promo, Page called out Strickland and verbally berated him saying that Strickland just couldn’t be satisfied with his win at WrestleDream even if he needed Prince Nana’s help to do so. Page then stated that Swtrickland crossed the line when he broke into his house and was with his baby son. Page then stated that he was upping the stakes for their match at next week’s Full Gear 2023 show and instead of a regular match, it will now be held as a Texas Death Match. Page also claimed that once he’s done with Strickland, he will bring his son to Strickland’s grave to piss on it. Following the segment, it was announced that this new stipulation was made official for the match.
