More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for November 15th

The November 15th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings and key demographic rankings.

AEW drew 823,000 viewers and a 0.28 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 4th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases this week was due to the large gains from their younger female key demographic viewership, older male key demographic viewership, and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 23.1%, 5.1%, and 20% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the stiff competition from Celebrity Jeopardy which featured Becky Lynch as a contestant and the large decline from their younger male key demographic group, which was down 24% compared to last week’s show.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, Celebrity Jeopardy drew 4,295,000 viewers on CBS, the NBA game of Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers drew 1,848,000 viewers on ESPN, the College Football game of Buffalo vs. Miami of Ohio drew 385,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NHL game of Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes drew 365,000 viewers on TNT, the College Basketball game of Georgetown vs. Rutgers drew 1,400,000 viewers on FS1, Survivor drew 5,140,000 viewers on CBS, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,016,000 viewers on BRAVO, Challenge: New Champion drew 391,000 viewers on MTV, Sistas Series drew 924,000 viewers on BET, and Expedition Unknown drew 1,189,000 viewers on Discovery Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 368,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 76,000 viewers (down 24%), Females 18-34 was 48,000 viewers (up 23.1%), Males 35-49 was 165,000 viewers (up 5.1%), and Females 35-49 was 78,000 viewers (up 20%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 241,000 male viewers and 126,000 female viewers for a split of 65.5% in favor of males.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 966,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 764,000 viewers for their eighth quarter.

In an interesting note, Meltzer reported that AEW’s Dynamite topped this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show in overall 18-34 at 125,000 viewers for AEW and 122,000 viewers for NXT.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 0.6% in overall viewership but down 0.8% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 3.3% compared to the same week last year.

The November 10th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings but suffered a slight decline in key demographic rankings. That week’s episode was notable for being a live and not taped show.

AEW drew 322,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 24th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 18.4% and 10% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the decline from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was down 5.9% compared to the prior week’s show.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns drew 1,929,000 viewers on ESPN, the College Football game of North Texas vs. SMU drew 618,000 viewers on ESPN2, 90 Day Fiance First Look drew 486,000 viewers on TLC, Love After Lockup drew 318,000 viewers on WETV, House Hunters drew 904,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV, and On Patrol Live drew 762,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 155,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 40,000 viewers (up 29%), Females 18-34 had 19,000 viewers (up 5.6%), Males 35-49 had 64,000 viewers (down 5.9%), and Females 35-49 had 33,000 viewers (up 10%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 104,000 male viewers and 52,000 female viewers for a split of 66.5% in favor of males.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 29.4% in overall viewership but up 5.4% in key demographic viewership.

The November 11th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings and key demographic rankings. That week’s show was notable for being a taped and not a live show.

AEW drew 396,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 21st place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were up 39.4% and 43.1% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the stiff sports competition that night and the decline from their older female key demographic viewership group, which was down 25.8% compared to the prior week’s show.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors drew 645,000 viewers on NBA TV, the College Football game of Ole Miss vs. Georgia drew 4,834,000 viewers on ESPN, the College Football game of Michigan State vs. Ohio State drew 3,572,000 viewers on NBC, the College Football game of Texas vs. TCU drew 2,823,000 viewers on ABC, the College Football game of West Virginia vs. Oklahoma drew 2,386,000 viewers on FOX, the Mexican Liga MX soccer game of UNAM vs. Chivas drew 298,000 on TUDN, and On Patrol Live drew 843,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 140,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 33,000 viewers (up 32%), Females 18-34 had 12,000 viewers (up 50%), Males 35-49 had 73,000 viewers (up 43.1), and Females 35-49 had 23,000 viewers (down 25.8%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 106,000 male viewers and 35,000 female viewers for a split of 70.9% in favor of males.
