WWE officials reportedly are currently considering plans for a potential “dream match” between CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the future, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that following CM Punk’s return to WWE at this past Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames 2023 event, several people within the company were pushing for the possibility of a match between Punk and Austin to take place at some point in the future. It was reported that this push was at the level that Punk even had discussions about the possibility for this match.
Many within WWE reportedly are currently hopeful and optimistic that this “dream” match could finally be put together. One source spoken to reportedly stated that many ideas have already been floated between Punk and WWE officials over this potential match. It was reported that it is currently not known how far along the talks, planning, or pitches are but if all went well, the ideal scenario would be Punk flying to Austin’s home to go over these ideas for a potential match. One source spoken to reportedly stated that while that is the current ideal scenario, there is still a lot that needs to get through first in order to make that possible.
Those close to Austin spoken to reportedly stated that they have never heard him mention any personal issues with Punk that would need to be resolved first and instead Austin and Punk have sent messages to each other a couple times a year or so.
