WWE: Charlotte Flair Knee Injury Update, Best of 2023 WWE RAW Show Announced for Dec. 25th, Update on WWE Speed Concept

Charlotte Knee Injury Status Update

As noted before, Charlotte Flair suffered a torn ACL, a torn meniscus, and a torn MCL injuries earlier this month and is currently expected to be out of action for at least the next nine months.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Flair is currently scheduled to undergo knee surgery in early January 2024. Johnson reported that Flair could potentially make her return from injury by October of 2024 if WWE’s recent statement about her being out of action for nine months is actually true.

In a recent interview with the Casual Conversations podcast, Flair’s father and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair gave his thoughts about his daughter’s recent injury and potential return. Flair stated

“She’s the best worker in the business. Man or woman. She can do stuff Rey Mysterio does. She is the best worker in the business, male or female. She never politics. In this horrible world of politics in the business, she doesn’t kiss anybody’s ass. She just gets better every day. She’ll come back from this injury, it’s stressing her out because she hasn’t been hurt in a long time, but she’s so muscled up. She’ll come through the surgery, they’ll put some stem cells in her, she’ll come back, and it’ll be the greatest storyline of all time. She and Bayley, IYO, Asuka. There are more people for her to wrestle. She has so much going on. I’m not knocking any of the other girls. Someone has to be the best, that’s just the way it is.”

More on WWE’s New WWE Speed Concept

As noted before, WWE debuted a new concept called “WWE Speed” prior to the start of their set of television tapings for SmackDown on December 15th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE Speed is meant to be a potential new WWE show and is currently being shopped around to multiple platforms.

Meltzer reported that besides Stardom’s High Speed Championship, WWE’s new WWE Speed concept is also similar to an idea Jeff Jarrett had in 2012 for TNA Wrestling for a pilot for a show called All Wheels Wrestling that never got picked up. One source spoken to who worked in TNA at the time reportedly stated that WWE’s new concept is an exact copy of Jarrett’s idea in regards to the Speed name for matches and the tournament point system for it.
