The first tournament match was Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker defeating Gallus.

The finish to this match involved Breakker hitting a clothesline to Coffey and a double knee gutbuster to Wolfgang and followed it with a belly-to-back suplex to Coffey and a shoulder tackle to Wolfgang. #1 Contender’s Women’s Battle Royal Match Announced for NXT Women’s Title

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured the announcement of a #1 Contender Women’s Battle Royal match to determine the next official challenger for Lyra Valkyria and her NXT Women’s Championship.

During an in-ring promo segment on the show, Valkyria talked about her match last week against Blair Davenport and claimed that despite being in the deepest women’s division in WWE, she will end 2024 the way she started as NXT Women’s Champion. Valkyria then asked who is going to face her at Vengeance Day and revealed that this will be determined by a 20-Women Battle Royal match at next week’s show. Valkyria also stated that this will not just be any normal battle royal match and instead the final four competitors in the ring will then face off in a Fatal Four way match with the winner to receive a shot for her NXT Women’s title.

Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez came out to interrupt and Vice stated that she can cash-in her Women’s Breakout tournament winner’s contract for a title shot whenever she wants. After some more back-and-forth banter, Valkyria stated that Vice did not need to wait since they can fight right now for the title. Before anything could happen, Lopez attacked Valkyria resulting in Vice joining in on the attack and Tatum Paxley running out to save Valkyria and help run off Vice and Lopez.

Dragon Lee Makes Return at Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Dragon Lee making his return to NXT following a brief absence due to visa-related issues.

In a backstage segment on the show, Luca Crusifino showed photographic evidence of his feet being under the ropes and demanded that his loss to Tavion Height be rescinded. Ava responded that there was nothing that she could do about it which led to Crusifino leaving. Lee then showed up and apologized to Ava for not being able to make it for last week’s New Year’s Evil show and that he saw what the LWO did last week in his absence. Lee also stated that his visa issues have been resolved. Lexis King interrupted stating that since Lee is back, that must mean that his open challenge for the NXT North American Championship is active again and gave Lee a contract to sign for his match request and that this match would take place later tonight. Lee signed the contract making the match official.

Oba Femi Wins NXT North American Title at Tuesday’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured Oba Femi defeating Dragon Lee to become the new NXT North American Champion.

This was initially setup following a backstage segment involving Femi and Lexis King. During a backstage interview, Femi was asked about his title plans as the current holder of the Men’s Breakout Tournament winner’s contract. King showed up to interrupt and claimed that if it wasn’t for Trey Bearhill, they would have met in the finals. King stated that Femi earned his shot at a title while he already has his own title match secured in the form of a contract he was holding for the NXT North American title. King then said he is looking at the next NXT Champion Oba Femi and claimed that he will be the next North American Champion. After King walked away, Femi asked NXT backstage interviewer Kelly Kincaid if King’s match was the main event for tonight which Kincaid responded saying yes. Femi then took a glance at his Men’s Breakout Tournament contract.

Following Lee defeating King to retain his NXT North American title in the main event, Femi came out and cashed in his Men’s Breakout Tournament contract for a title shot on the spot which was officially granted. After some brief back-and-forth action, Femi countered Lee’s Operation Dragon and hoisted up Lee for a powerbomb. Femi prevented Lee from trying to counter out of his hold and hit a powerbomb for the pinfall victory to become the new NXT North American Champion.
