BCC Accepts FTR’s Match Challenge for AEW Revolution 2024

Saturday’s AEW Collision show featured one new match officially added to the card of AEW Revolution 2024, which takes place on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This new match announced was a tag team match of Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood).

This match was initially setup following this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show after FTR issued a challenge to Blackpool Combat Club over Harwood and Moxley’s singles match ending in a time limit draw and the two teams brawling afterwards.

During tonight’s show, BCC’s Castagnoli and Moxley were seen backstage and responded to FTR’s match challenge. Moxley first talked about when Castagnoli first came to America and began training for professional wrestling. Moxley stated that Castagnoli and himself are both freaks and they don’t get paid by the hour. Moxley then talked about how the time limit draw he had with Harwood pissed him off and accepted FTR’s challenge for a match at Revolution 2024. Moxley then claimed that the BCC is the elite of AEW and Castagnoli responded stating that they create the wrestling of today. Castagnoli also stated that they can live in the past but if FTR wants to step into the future, then they need to be better than the BCC. Moxley then mocked FTR saying that could not have been all they had at this past Wednesday’s show and if FTR wants to be big names at Revolution, then they need to swim in deep, deep water.

Following FTR’s tag team victory over Shane Taylor Promotions, FTR gave a post-match in-ring promo responding to BCC’s comments earlier. Harwood stated that if BCC are the kings of AEW, then for them to become a new king, they must kill a king at Revolution. Following FTR’s promo, a graphic aired confirming this match being made official for Revolution 2024.

Kris Statlander Accepts Skye Blue’s Match Challenge for Next Week’s Show

Saturday’s Collision show also featured Kris Statlander accepting Skye Blue’s challenge for a match at next week’s show.

This match was initially setup during Friday’s taped Rampage show following Blue wanting revenge over Stokely Hathaway costing her match against Nightingale at last week’s Collision show. Julia Hart asked Blue who she wanted to have a match first which led to Blue stating she wanted whoever had the balls to accept her challenge.

During tonight’s show, AEW backstage interviewer Renee Paquette asked Statlander, Nightingale, and Hathaway for their thoughts about Blue and Hart’s recent challenge to them. After some insults filled banter by Stokely, Statlander accepted Blue’s challenge for a match at next week’s show.

FTR & Eddie Kingston vs. Blackpool Combat Club & Bryan Danielson Announced for Next Week’s Dynamite Show

Saturday’s Collision show also featured one match officially announced for the card of next week’s AEW Dynamite show on February 28th in Huntsville, Alabama.

This new match announced was a Trios match of FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) & Eddie Kingston vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, & Bryan Danielson).

This match was setup following Danielson’s victory over Japanese wrestling legend Jun Akiyama. After the match, Danielson shook Akiyama’s hand in a showing of respect and then looked towards Kingston at ringside and flipped him off. This led to Akiyama slapping Danielson for what he did resulting in Danielson pretending to be sorry and waited for an opening to low blow Akiyama. This led to Kingston storming into the ring and a brawl breaking out that turned into a mass brawl after Castagnoli and FTR ran out to join. AEW commentator Tony Schiavone announced that AEW CEO Tony Khan informed him that a Trios match has been booked for next week’s Dynamite show as a result.
