FTR Issues Match Challenge to Blackpool Combat Club for AEW Revolution 2024

Wednesday’s Dynamite show featured one potential new match for the card of AEW Revolution 2024.

This potential new match is a tag team match of Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Hardwood).

This match was initially setup in recent weeks over FTR and Blackpool Combat Club’s growing bad blood issues with each other leading to a brawl during last week’s show following Moxley and Harwood’s match against each other.

During tonight’s show, FTR and BCC faced off in a tag team match that ended in a 20-minute time limit draw and led to both teams engaging in a big post-match brawl that resulted in a lot of security and AEW officials rushing to the ring to separate all of them.

In a follow-up backstage segment, Harwood called out BCC and issued a challenge to them for a tag team match at Revolution 2024. BCC showed up and engaged in a heated argument that was quickly broken up by AEW officials.

Jake Hager Makes Surprise Appearance at Wed. Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured Jake Hager making a surprise appearance.

Following Orange Cassidy’s victory over Mike Bennett, The Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven ran into the ring and attacked Cassidy leading to Bennett joining in. Undisputed Kingdom’s attack was interrupted by Hager’s music playing leading to Hager running out to save Cassidy and cleared Bennett and Taven out of the ring. Hager then helped Cassidy up to his feet and raised his hand while the crowd cheered in approval to both Cassidy and their home state guy.

It was announced that Hager will be facing off against Roderick Strong at this Friday’s AEW Rampage show.

Ric Flair Makes Surprise Return at Wed. Dynamite Show

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair making his surprise return to AEW.

Following Flair making a surprise appearance after showing up coming out of a van in the parking lot, AEW backstage interviewer Renee Paquette asked for some comments from Flair for his arrival. Flair talked about how he feels upset over not being a bigger part of Sting’s final match at Revolution 2024. Flair stated that he is not upset at Sting but disappointed that he has not been around in recent weeks so he will be exploring some options. Flair then walked up to the Young Bucks locker room and knocked on the door leading to the Young Bucks answering and Flair stating if they had time to talk. The Young Bucks let Flair into their room but did not allow the cameraman to follow.

Daniel Garcia vs. Christian Cage for TNT Title Announced for AEW Revolution 2024

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured the official announcement of Daniel Garcia vs. Christian Cage for the TNT Championship for the card of AEW Revolution 2024.

This new match announced was a TNT Championship match of Daniel Garcia vs. Christian Cage (c).

This match was setup following a promo segment involving Garcia, Cage, and The Patriarchy. Garcia came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone, who revealed that Cage will officially be defending his TNT Championship against Garcia at Revolution 2024 due to Adam Copeland being out of action over The Patriarchy’s attack on him last week. Garcia talked about how the Continental Classic helped him get right back on track and thanked the fans for helping him get that feeling back. Garcia stated that the next time he sees Copeland, he will be the TNT Champion and promised to take Cage’s title at Revolution.

Before he could continue, Garcia was interrupted by Cage and The Patriarchy. After some boasting about himself as champion and insults directed towards the crowd, Cage stated that he does not think that this title match should be happening at Revolution not because Garcia is not capable but instead, because he is not ready. Cage then stated that Garcia just wants to make the people happy and knows why Garcia is the way he is. Cage then talked about Garcia’s troubled childhoold and brought up that Garcia had a father … and his father is dead. After some more insults-filled digs at Garcia and his late father, Cage stated that he offers to help Garcia reach his full potential and how at Revolution, he does not want to be Garcia’s opponent but instead his father.

An angry Garcia responded stating that since Cage knows so much about his dead father, then Cage can come to the ring so that he can put him in the ground next to him. This led to Nick Wayne and Killswitch going to the ring and a brawl taking place resulting in “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard coming out with a steel chair to save Garcia and clear The Patriarchy out of the ring.

Meat Madness Match Announced for AEW Revolution 2024

Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured another new match officially announced for the card of AEW Revolution 2024, which takes place on March 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This new match announced was a Meat Madness match of Wardlow vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. mystery competitor(s).

This match was setup following an in-ring interview segment involving Wardlow. AEW interviewer Tony Schiavone tried to get an in-ring interview with Wardlow only to be quickly told by Wardlow to get out of his ring before he knocks him down again. After Schiavone left, Wardlow proceeded to air some heated grievances over how two years ago he had thousands upon thousand of people cheering for him and the rocket that was strapped to his back as a day one AEW homegrown star that could have taken him to big stardom has now kept him down time and time again. Wardlow talked about how he has not even had the chance to hold the AEW World Championship and how he has beaten men who have held the title. Wardlow referenced CM Punk claiming that the man who called himself the “real champion” is still falling apart because of what he did to him last time. Wardlow then called out MJF stating that he laid him out and left him to recover from his wounds. Wardlow then called out current AEW World Champion Samoa Joe stating that he choked out and beat Joe in the past. Wardlow then stated that he feels he is the “best in the world” and “better than you and you know it” and claimed he is the mist dangerous man in the room. Wardlow stated that this makes him the uncrowned king and he is hungry and is tired of being fed just scraps. Wardlow then stated that this is no longer wrestling but this is war.

In a follow-up segment, it was announced that a Meat Madness match was made official for Revolution 2024 and will include Wardlow in the match.

In another follow-up segment, Don Callis revealed in a backstage interview segment that Powerhouse Hobbs will also be competing in this Meat Madness match.
