WWE: Alba Fyre Replacing Shotzi for Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier Match, Drew McIntyre Contract Update, Bron Breakker Main Roster Plans Update

Shotzi Knee Injury Update – Alba Fyre Replacing Shotzi for Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match for Fri. SmackDown Show

As noted before, Shotzi suffered a knee injury at this past Tuesday’s NXT tapings for next week’s show at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

WWE recently provided an update on Twitter featuring SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirming that Shotzi had suffered an injury and will not be able to compete at this Friday’s SmackDown show.

Aldis also announced that Alba Fyre will be replacing Shozti for her scheduled Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton at the show.


Update on Drew McIntyre’s WWE Contract Status

As noted before, Drew McIntyre’s contract with WWE is currently expected to expire by this April’s WrestleMania 40 event. McIntyre is currently advertised for WWE live event in Italy this May leading to rumors of McIntyre might have signed a new deal.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources provided some clarity regarding McIntyre’s contract status and his advertised appearance for WWE’s upcoming show in Italy.

Johnson reported that McIntyre has not signed a new deal and instead WWE officials are currently working under the assumption that McIntyre will re-sign with the promotion. This reportedly was the reason why WWE is currently advertising McIntyre for their upcoming Italy show and European tour.

Johnson reported that both WWE officials and McIntyre are currently hoping to get a new deal completed soon but there is still the chance that talks between the two sides could break down.


Update on WWE’s Current Main Roster Call-up Plans for Bron Breakker

As noted before, Bron Breakker made his official Men’s Royal Rumble debut at this past January’s Royal Rumble 2024 event and has made recent appearances on WWE’s RAW and SmackDown shows as part of a bidding war storyline for his main roster call-up. This past Tuesday’s NXT show featured Breakker and Baron Corbin defeating Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that despite Breakker and Corbin’s recent NXT Tag Team Championship victory, WWE officials still currently have plans for Breakker to make his official call-up to the main roster soon.

Johnson reported that Breakker is currently scheduled to make an appearance at this Friday’s SmackDown show in Salt Lake City, Utah.
