Monday’s RAW show also featured two matches announced for the card of next week’s RAW show on February 26th in San Jose, California.

The first new match announced was a singles match of Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.

This match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Zayn talking about his loss to Nakamura last week caused by Drew McIntyre’s interference. Zayn stated that he has to hit the pause button on his issues with McIntyre since it has led to him getting stuck on one person and not being able to move forward for his path to WrestleMania. Zayn stated that he does not know what this path is but he has to trust the feeling in his gut. Zayn then stated that there is a path for him to do something historic at WrestleMania to cement his status as a contender and claimed that he will be a champion.

In a follow backstage promo segment, Nakamura responded to Zayn’s comments earlier and stated that fighters fight and true fighters do not whine to everyone to try and get the spotlight. Nakamura stated that if Zayn wants the spotlight, then he will give him one and if Zayn thinks he is an underdog, then he will make sure he stays that way. After some more words, Nakamura stated that he will prove that the contender is a pretender and this match to take place at anytime and anywhere.

The second new match announced was a Street Fight of New Day vs. Imperium.

This match was setup following a backstage promo segment by New Day. Xavier Woods claimed that Jey Uso will win the Intercontinental title off of Gunther tonight and next week it will be their turn with Imperium. Kingston stated that Imperium failed trying to take his head and claimed New Day are the industry standard when it comes to tag team wrestling. Kingston also stated that their issues are not over until they say it is over. Woods responded stating that they have a surprise for Imperium, which he revealed to be a Street Fight match for next week’s show.
