Asuka Reportedly Suffered Potential Knee Injury & Pulled from This Past Weekend’s WWE Live Events

Asuka reportedly recently suffered a potential knee injury, according to PWInsider and Tom Colohue.

Colohue reported that his sources stated that WWE officials had removed Asuka from this past weekend’s house show live events due to her suffering a potential injury.

Colohue also reported that WWE officials currently have plans for Asuka and Kairi Sane to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at next month’s WrestleMania 40 event. WWE officials reportedly are currently considering the option of Dakota Kai replacing Asuka if she is unable to compete in time for the event.

In regards to Asuka’s potential injury, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Asuka is currently believed to have suffered a potential knee injury. Asuka was seen visibly limping during this past Friday’s SmackDown show in Memphis, Tennessee.

Johnson reported that WWE officials made the decision to pull Asuka from this past weekend’s live events out of caution and for medical tests to be done to determine if this is something that Asuka could work through or if she had suffered a serious injury.

Johnson also reported that an update on Asuka’s injury status is currently not known as of Monday afternoon.
