NJPW Announces Three New Matches for Windy City Riot 2024

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced three new matches for the card of their Windy City Riot 2024 event, which takes place on April 12th in Chicago, Illinois.

The first new match announced was a singles match of Tomohiro Ishii vs. Nic Nemeth.

The second new match announced was a singles match of Shota Umino vs. Jack Perry.

The third new match announced was a NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship Open Challenge Four-way match of TBA vs. TBA vs. TBA vs. Guerillas of Destiny (El Phantasmo & Hikuleo) (c).

More on Motor City Machine Guns Expiring TNA Contracts

As noted before, The Motor City Machine Guns’ Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin’s contracts with TNA Wrestling is currently rumored to be expiring soon and as early as by the end of this month.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Sabin and Shelley’s contracts are currently set to expire by the end of this month. It was reported that Sabin and Shelley did not respond when they contacted them over the accuracy of PWInsider’s report and those spoken to within TNA currently believe that the news of Sabin and Shelley’s expiring contracts are true.

It was also reported that TNA’s contract offers to talents have bee different of late, especially following some of the talent meetings that have taken place in recent months. It was reported that some talents have been offered per-date type deals instead of full-time type contracts.


Afa Anoa’i Suffered Fractured Back Injury Update – Anoa’i Was Set to Undergo Heart Valve Replacement Surgery Prior to Back Injury

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Afa The Wild Samoan, real name Afa Anoa’i, recently suffered a fractured back injury following a fall incident and is currently hospitalized.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that prior to him suffering a fractured back injury, Anoa’i had been scheduled to undergo heart value replacement surgery. Anoa’i doctors reportedly had considered going ahead with doing the heart value surgery first and then repair his back at a later time.

In a follow-up report, Johnson reported that Anoa’i is currently scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his fractured back this Friday.
