Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns’

Friday’s SmackDown show also featured Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns holding a face-to-face talk about their upcoming matches at WrestleMania 40.

Following Reigns & Heyman and Rhodes entering the ring, Reigns talked about how he kept his word about being here alone for this face-to-face meeting and saw Rhodes did the same. Reigns then called Rhodes a fool and is stupid because he is not fit to be on top and the face of this company because he is an idiot. After some more words directed at Seth Rollins, Reigns stated that Rollins showed his true colors this past Monday’s RAW show when he did not come out to help Rhodes get out of a jam. Reigns then brought up how Rollins and himself were in The Shield and did not do good guy things but they were brothers. Reigns stated that Rollins then stabbed his back and that is why Rhodes is a fool for trusting Rollins.

Rhodes responded stating that he remembers The Shield and how they were unstoppable and undefeated. Rhodes then asked Reigns if he remembers who was the first to defeat the Shield and gave a hint of their last name being Rhodes, in reference to himself and Dustin Rhodes at WWE Battleground 2013. After some more words, Rhodes asked the crowd if he can trust Rollins, which they cheered back in support. Rhodes then stated that Rollins might hate his guts and Reigns might be right but he knows one thing and that is Rollins hates Reigns even more. Rhodes then asked Reigns if he can trust The Rock at WrestleMania and brought up who really is in charge of The Bloodline, the Tribal Chief or the Final Boss.

Reigns responded mocking Rhodes for speaking like a politician who promises things but doesn’t keep his word and how he told the people lies since what he says never comes to fruition. Reigns then stated that Rhodes is number two and anyone would be lucky to be the number two. Reigns stated that Rhodes is the greatest number two of all time but Reigns is number one forever.

Rhodes responded back stating that Reigns grew up in this industry like he did. Rhodes then stated that Reigns probably looked in the mirror and wanted to be the next face of a generation and mentioned Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, The Rock, Steve Austin, and John Cena. After some more words, Rhodes stated that when it comes to WrestleMania and who defeats Reigns for the title he’s held on for so long, Rhodes isn’t number two, he is the one.

Rhodes offered his hand to Reigns for a handshake, which Reigns declined and sarcastically shook Paul Heyman’s hand instead before leaving the ring. Reigns then snapped his fingers leading to the Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa coming out from the crowd and slowly approached Rhodes teasing a fight. This was stopped after Jey Uso and Rollins came out from the crowd and walked to the front of the ring resulting in a staredown between the two groups as the show went off the air.
