NJPW Announces IWGP World Title Match & Five More Matches for Resurgence 2024

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced the first six official matches for the card of their Resurgence 2024 event, which takes place on May 11th at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.

Among the matches announced includes an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match of Shota Umino vs. Winner of Ren Narita/Jon Moxley (c).

Matt Cardona Suffered Torn Pec Injury

TNA and indies talent Matt Cardona reportedly recently suffered a torn pectoral injury, according to Fightful.

Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Cardona had recently informed several indie promoters of him suffering a torn pec injury and will be undergoing surgery to repair it.

Cardona most recently wrestled for Game Changer Wrestling at their Josy Janela’s Spring Break 8 event earlier this month in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.


Lucha Legend Dos Caras Reportedly Accused of Assault of Ex-Girlfriend & Dos Caras’ Son Accused of Acid Attack

C4 en Alerta reported that Lucha Libre legend Dos Caras, father of Alberto El Patron, has been accused of “abusing, assaulting, humiliating, and beating” his ex-girlfriend in Mexico, according to C4 en Alerta.

Carlos Jiménez reported that a criminal complaint was filed with the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office by the victim, who included photos of her injuries as evidence for her allegations. In the filing, the victim stated that Caras had forced her to kiss his feet and say “You have the feet like a price” and when she refused, she claimed that Caras beat her. The victim also stated that she when she had attempted to end their relationship this past February, Caras had threatened to have one of her family members killed if she went through with it.

The victim also claimed that El Hijo de Dos Caras, former WWE NXT talent Memo Montenegro, had thrown acid at her outside of her home and also robbed her home on March 5th. Jiménez reported that this attack was allegedly claimed to have been done at the behest of Dos Caras.

Game Changer Wrestling recently announced that WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Abdullah the Butcher will be getting inducted into their Deathmatch Hall of Fame as the first official member of this year’s class.

Former Stardom talent Konami recently announced that she has rejoined the company as a full-time talent going forward.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding two new TAMASHII brand events on May 17th in Sydney and May 18th in Melbourne, Australia.

As noted before, a plagiarism lawsuit against WWE and AEW was dismissed without prejudice this past November and an amended lawsuit was filed this past February by a man named Anthony Wilson. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Wilson had filed a request to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on March 10th requesting a stay be issued for his case due to him currently being incarcerated based on recent court records.

As noted before, former WWF, WCW, and NWA wrestler Billy Jack Hayes was arrested this past February and officially charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon this past March following a shooting incident at his home in Portland, Oregon that resulted in the death of his wife. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Haynes’ bail hearing that was originally scheduled for April 3rd was pushed back to a new date of May 13th to allow both sides additional time to prepare and investigate the circumstances of the case based on recent court records.
