WWE: Drew Gulak Responds to Ronda Rousey Allegations, Ricochet & Bronson Reed Advance in WWE Speed Title Tourmament, Joe Gacy Update

Drew Gulak Responds to Ronda Rousey Allegations Claiming His Misconduct was Just an Accident

As noted before, Ronda Rousey recently accused Drew Gulak of committing inappropriate conduct towards her following an alleged backstage incident involving Gulak pulling on Rousey’s sweatpants string backstage without consent.

Gulak responded earlier today on Twitter claiming that the incident was just an accident and something that he had already apologized for to Rousey.

“Backstage at a WWE event in 2022, I saw Ronda talking with a group in the hallway. I stopped to say hi and shake all their hands, and in an attempt to shake her hand, I accidentally touched her drawstring. Complete accident, and one that I had apologized to her for the mishap.”

Ricochet & Bronson Reed Advance in WWE Speed Title Tournament

Wednesday’s debut episode of WWE’s new WWE Speed series on Twitter featured Ricochet and Bronson Reed advancing to the next round of the eight-man tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Speed Champion.

Ricochet defeated Dragon Lee and Reed defeated Cedric Alexander in first round matches.

While WWE has not revealed the full field for the tournament, it was announced that next week’s show will be featuring Axiom facing off against JD McDonagh in another First Round tournament match.

Update on Joe Gacy Injury Scare Incident on Tuesday’s NXT Show

As noted before, Joe Gacy was originally believed to have suffered a potential head injury at Tuesday’s NXT show during his match against Oba Femi. Later in the show, Gacy was seen selling the effects of his injury in NXT General Manager Ava’s office and demanded a match against Shawn Spears for revenge for his attack before Gacy’s match.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason why Gacy’s match against Femi was called off was due to NXT officials had been worried that Gacy had suffered a concussion injury. It was reported that this led to NXT officials making some changes to their original plans for the show with an in-ring segment involving Femi, Dijak, and Josh Briggs being changed to a backstage segment. Another change reportedly involved the Gacy vs. Spears match announcement for Stand & Deliver being delayed until Gacy’s medical situation became clear.

It was reported that following his match, Gacy was able to walk backstage on his own after being checked on by the ringside doctor. This reportedly led NXT officials to go on ahead with their match announcement for Gacy vs. Spears.
