Rhea Ripley Confirms Injury Situation & Vacates WWE Women’s World Title at Monday’s RAW Show

Prior to the start of the show, Rhea Ripley was believed to have suffered a serious injury at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania following a backstage brawl segment with Liv Morgan. This injury was believed to be serious enough to potentially cause Ripley needing to vacate her WWE Women’s World Championship.

At the start of tonight’s show, Ripley came out to the ring sporting a sling on her arm. Ripley talked about her injury at the hands of Morgan last week and being told that she will be put on the bench for the time being. Ripley stated that she was told that she would be forced to vacate her WWE Women’s World Championship due to her injury and angrily blamed Morgan’s “Revenge Tour” for being the reason. Ripley then stated that she might be gone for now but she will be coming for blood when she comes back to whoever holds her title and threatened Morgan stating that when she finds her, she will be locked up in a Montreal jail afterwards.

This led to Morgan’s music playing and a gleeful Morgan trying to make her way to the ring only to be prevented by security guards trying to hold her back. Ripley left the ring and told security to let Morgan go, which they refused. Ripley responded by laying out one security guard and threatened another before leaving to the back.

WWE Unveils Newly Renamed World Tag Team Titles at Monday’s RAW Show

Monday’s RAW show also featured the official debut of newly designed RAW Tag Team Championship belts.

WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque came out to the ring which had a podium covering up something and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce standing next to it. Levesque briefly talked about how WrestleMania 40 was a record setting event and the start of a new era. Pearce responded that there was no better way to celebrate than with something that the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team divisions can be proud of for this new era. Levesque then called for Awesome Truth to come out to the ring, which they did.

Levesque proceeded to congratulate The Miz and R-Truth for their RAW Tag Team Championship victory at WrestleMania 40 and if they are going to represent the RAW brand and tag team division, then there is no better way than with new tag team belts. Levesque took off the cloth that was covering the newly designed RAW Tag Team titles and proclaimed that going forward, this new belt would be known as the World Tag Team Championship.

After some comedic banter between Levesque, R-Truth, and The Miz over R-Truth being in disbelieve over the magic trick Triple H did and confusing him for Tommaso Ciampa, Levesque left and said for Pearce to handle the rest of the things. Before he left, Levesque took Awesome Truth’s old RAW Tag Team title belts and handed them the new World Tag Team title belts. Pearce then told Awesome Truth why they made the boss leave leading to more comedic response from R-Truth. Pearce then stated that the next step was to figure out who would be their first official challenges and that this would be determined by a #1 Contender Triple Threat match that would be taking place next.

In a follow-up match, DIY defeated The Creed Brothers and New Day to earn a shot at the new World Tag Team Championship.

Later in the show, it was announced that Awesome Truth will be defending their World Tag Team titles against DIY at next week’s RAW show.
