The Elite Attack Kenny Omega at Wednesday’s AEW Rampage Show

Wednesday’s special live Rampage show featured The Elite attacking Kenny Omega.

Following Omega’s speech providing an update about his current battle and recovery from diverticulitis, The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada came out to confront Omega as Dynamite’s show ended and AEW transitioned into their Rampage show right afterwards.

At the start of Rampage’s show, Omega and Okada stared down each other and Omega talked about their past rivalry in New Japan and asked Okada to give a few months and they can settle it inside an AEW ring. Okada responded telling Omega “no” and stated that he is the new “Best Bout Machine.” This led to Jack Perry running out from the crowd and attacked Omega from behind. Perry laid out several security with a chair only to get attacked by Omega in return. Following a snap dragon suplex to Perry, Omega clutched his stomach in response. After some more brawling between Omega and Perry, Okada got involved leading to Perry laying out Omega with a jab to the midsection with a chair. This led to the Young Bucks coming out to the ring and told Perry to stand down before attacking Omega and laying him out again with an EVP Trigger. As Okada was about to hit a Rainmaker to Omega, FTR’s music played and ran out to the ring to save Omega as The Elite left the ring. AEW medics and officials ran out next to check on Omega as the show officially transitioned from Dynamite to Rampage.

In a follow-up segment, Omega was seen being stretched to a waiting ambulance only to be stopped by The Elite who laid out FTR and turned their attention to Omega. Matthew Jackson stated to Omega that it is “just business” leading to The Elite tipping over the stretcher causing Omega to crash onto the concrete floor. This led to medics rushing to check on Omega as The Elite walked away.

Big Bill Officially Joins Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree Group

Wednesday’s special live Rampage show also featured Big Bill officially joining Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree group.

This was initially setup during last week’s AEW Dynamite show following Big Bill asking Jericho that he wanted to be under his Learning Tree guidance. Jericho responded stating that he would consider it and would keep a watch on him.

During tonight’s Rampage show, Big Bill was interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette giving his thoughts about him needing the proper guidance and saying that Jericho can give him this guidance. Bill then called out Jericho and asked him one more time if he could be under his Learning Tree. This led to Jericho suddenly showing up and talked about his FTW Championship match and victory over Katsuyori Shibata. Jericho stated that he accepts Bill’s request and will take him into the Jericho Vortex and under the Learning Tree. Bill responded stating that he promises he won’t let Jericho down.
