Monday’s WWE RAW show featured the official announcement of Jey uso replacing Drew McIntyre for this year’s King of the Ring tournament.

Prior to the start of the show, WWE had announced that McIntyre was pulled from this year’s King of the Ring tournament due to him not being medically cleared to compete.

During Monday’s show, Balor claimed he got a First Round bye due to Drew McIntyre not being medically cleared to compete only to be interrupted by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. Pearce informed Balor that despite what he thinks, he will not be getting a First Round bye and told Judgement Day to leave since he did not want a repeat of what happened with Damian Priest’s WWE World Heavyweight title match at Backlash 2024. Pearce then revealed Uso to be Balor’s new opponent for his tournament match tonight.

Kai stated that the reason was due to Asuka currently dealing with an injury. Kai then called out current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill stating that Damage CTRL will get their belts back. Two New Matches Announced for King & Queen of the Ring 2024

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured two new matches announced for the card of King & Queen of the Ring 2024, which takes place on May 25th at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The first new match announced was a WWE Women’s World Championship match of Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch (c).

This match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Lynch and Morgan. After Lynch praised several members of RAW’s current Women’s division, Morgan came out to interrupt and took offense with her name being left off of Lynch’s list. After some more words, Lynch revealed that Lynch had promised her a shot at her WWE Women’s World title. Lynch responded stating that she will get her title match at WWE’s upcoming King & Queen of the Ring 2024 event in Saudi Arabia. After some more words between Morgan and Lynch, Damage CTRL interrupted and came out to the ring. Dakota Kai stated that they have the Queen of the Ring tournament on lockdown and claimed she will advance to the next round just like IYO SKY did earlier. Kai then stated that they are here to remind who really runs RAW, which led to Damage CTRL surrounding three sides of the ring and Morgan and Lynch being side to side ready to fight them off. This turned out to be a ruse by Morgan who quickly left the ring leading to a 3-on-1 beatdown by Damage CTRL to Lynch and Lyra Valkyria running out to save Lynch and clear the ring of Damage CTRL.

The second new match announced was an Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat match of Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable vs. Sami Zayn (c).

This match was initially setup in recent weeks shows over the bad blood issues between Reed, Gable, and Zayn. During tonight’s show, Zayn ran out and interfered in Gable’s match against Reed leading to the referee calling for the bell and a brawl breaking out between all three guys. This brawl ended with Reed standing tall and left the ring and to the back for a talk with RAW GM Adam Pearce. Reed demanded a shot at Zayn’s Intercontinental title before walking away. In a follow-up segment, Zayn was interviewed backstage by Jackie Redmond for his thoughts about when things between him and Gable and Reed will reach an end. After some words, Zayn stated that there is only one way this can end and revealed this to be a Triple Threat match for his title at King & Queen of the Ring 2024 event.
