As noted before, Jamie Hayter has been out of action for AEW since May of 2023 due to a shoulder-related injury.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Hayter was seen in attendance backstage at a AEW Dynamite show in recent months. Sapp reported that the reason for this visit was due to that being when AEW’s roster had to show up for physicals.
Sapp reported that the current feeling within AEW is that there has been some positive movement towards a potential recovery for Hayter. Sapp also reported that where Hayter stands on her timetable for a return is currently not known due to her injury being a very serious one.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Hayter’s appearance was the most positive news towards a possible return that they have heard since she was sidelined in May of 2023 despite numerous other talent who were off AEW television were also required to show up for physicals that day.
Several AEW talent spoken to reportedly stated that they have not heard much about Hayter of later and her being backstage had not been a regular occurrence these days. Those same talents spoken to reportedly stated that they have not seen her backstage since then nor have heard any general updates on her recovery. Those spoken to close to the situation reportedly stated that Hayter has been keeping to herself and has been focusing on her recovery.
In regards to AEW’s current plans for Hayter’s potential return, Sapp reported that there have been talent who have had matches pitched to them by AEW officials involving Hayter in the event that she returns. Those close to Hayter and AEW officials reportedly are currently confident that a return for her is in the cards.
