This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show featured Eddy Thorpe defeating Lexis King, Axiom, and Cedric Alexander in a Last Chance Fatal Four-way match to qualify for the final spot in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at tonight’s NXT Deadline 2024 event. Thorpe’s status for the match and event was later put in doubt following a show closing angle that featured Thorpe being seen laid out backstage following an unseen attack.
NXT General Manager Ava provided an update today stating that due to the recent mystery attack on Thorpe, he has been pulled from the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match due to him not being medically cleared to compete. Ava also stated that she will find a suitable replacement for Thorpe’s spot in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.
“Due to the heinous attack he suffered this past Tuesday, Eddy Thorpe has been ruled out of the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. We still don’t know who attacked Eddy, and we’re continuing to look into the situation. However, for Deadline tonight, I will find a suitable replacement to take Eddie’s spot in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.”
