Sunday’s Strong Style Evolved 2024 show for New Japan Pro Wrestling at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California featured the Young Bucks’ Matthew & Nicholas Jackson making a surprise appearance.
Following Jack Perry & Konosuke Takeshita’s victory over Los Ingobernables de Japon (Yota Tsuji & Shingo Takagi), Perry & Takeshita’s victory celebration was cut short after Takagi attacked Takeshita causing a brawl to break out. This led to Perry & Takeshita managing to get the upper hand on Takagi and Tsuji resulting in Hiromu Takahashi running out trying to save his fellow LIF partners. This then led to The Young Bucks running out and laid out Takahashi after hitting a set of superkicks and an EVP Trigger.

The Young Bucks went up to Perry to help him back up to his feet and reunite for the first time since this past October’s AEW Fright Night Dynamite show. Instead of warmly receiving the Young Bucks, Perry shrugged them away and left the ring to the back.

The Young Bucks then grabbed a microphone and talked about their return to New Japan and the reason they came back because they want to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship one more time before retiring.
This was the Young Bucks first appearance in NJPW since the November 26th World Tag League 2024 event in Japan.
