As noted before, WWE has been considering plans for CM Punk to be involved in a World title match at next year’s WrestleMania 41 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that WWE officials recently have “heavily discussed” potential plans for a match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41.
Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that this had not specifically been the plan for either Punk or Reigns a few weeks ago but things had been adjusted. Punk reportedly had hoped for this match to take place.
WWE officials current plans for Punk and Reigns reportedly was stated to be a “drastically different direction” than what had been originally planned for the two as far back as a couple months ago.
Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson informs WWE of his involvement for WrestleMania 41, then much of the planned card could change. Sapp also reported that WWE has been working on plans for WrestleMania 41 as if The Rock would not be involved.
