Jeff Hardy Writing New “Rehab Memoirs” To Help Others with Addiction & Alcoholism

Jeff Hardy’s wrestling career has been notable for the several out-of-the ring addiction and alcoholism issues he has dealt with over the years. Hardy’s most recent incident involved him being arrested for DUI in June of 2022 and being suspended by AEW and sent to rehab during his time in the company.

In a recent interview with Metro, Jeff Hardy revealed that he is currently writing a new “rehab memoirs” in hopes of being able to help others dealing with their addiction and alcoholism struggles.

“I can help people through being public and pretty much outgoing about what I’ve been through. I’m like a lot of people out there in the world, just really struggling with addiction, alcoholism. But hopefully that’s inspired a lot of people, me just being honest with everything, and I just started this morning, actually – I’ve got five years of journaling. I read this book called The Heroin Diaries a long time ago, I think Nikki Sixx put it out. My first day in my first rehab, I said, I might as well write about this every day and just share my experience. So I started going back through all those journal entries, five years of journal entries, and I wrote my first page today.”

Former WWE and AEW talent CJ Perry announced on Twitter that she had underwent successful surgery this past Wednesday. Perry stated “Made it out of surgery. Thank you all.” In a post on Instagram earlier this week, Perry had stated that she was safe following her evacuating her home in Los Angeles due to the on-going wildfires in the area but could not leave the city due to her being in the middle of a very important medical procedure.

In a recent interview with the Game Changer Weekly podcast, Game Changer Wrestling owner Brett Lauderdale stated that the current live gate for this Sunday’s The People vs. GCW event at the Hammerstein Ballroom is currently in the six figures. Lauderdale stated “The numbers today, whether one person watches this show on Triller or not, the numbers are, they’re okay. I never talk business or real numbers, but I can tell you, the gate of this show, the ticket sales, I know everybody thinks, ‘Oh, they gave away X amount of tickets,’ there was a couple of tickets given away, but I can tell you that the gate for this show is in six figures, there’s over $100,00 worth of tickets sold, which is more than any independent wrestling show will sell this year, next year, last year, the year before, five years from now, the year after. So will this show be as successful as 2021 from a business standpoint? No because that would be virtually impossible, but I can tell you this is a history-making show in its own right.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

As noted before, former TNA ring announcer Jade Chung departed from the company this past December. Chung reflected on Twitter about Thursday’s TNA Impact! show being the final show to feature her work as a ring announcer for the company. Chung stated “Thank you @ThisIsTNA Faithfuls. I am officially signing off and will be watching and cheering for all my friends.

In a recent interview with the Reffin It Up podcast, Brian Myers gave his thoughts about if TNA Wrestling’s new television deal with Sportsnet 360 would open the door for more TV deals worldwide for the company. Myers stated “That, I think, is the plan. Without knowing, I think that would be the ultimate goal. I’ve been part of TNA for over four years now, and the roster is so hard-working and so passionate, and I think the show is so different than the other big two companies per se that you might see on television. I think it offers something really different for a real wrestling fan. So that’s what I hope for, more eyes on the product.” Myers also gave his thoughts about his belief that a better paying television deal for TNA would take the company to the next level. Myers stated “I 100% believe that. I think, whether it’s a streaming service or a cable channel that is in more homes, that’s the missing piece. Because the talent’s there, the passion’s there, the roster’s there. Even the shit Eric Tompkins does behind the scenes, making us all look cooler than we really are with the packages and the vignettes, it’s all there. It’s just a matter of eyeballs, and I think that’s the move.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
