Sundayβs Genesis 2025 event for TNA Wrestling at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas featured Joe Hendry defeating Nic Nemeth to become the new TNA World Champion.
Near the end of the match, Frakize Kazarian came out holding his Call Your Shot Guantlet trophy and attempted to cash-in to inject himself into the match. This led to WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield coming out from teh crowd and laid out Kazarian with a Clothesline from Hell. As JBL was leaving, he laid out Ryan Nemeth who was at ringside with a punch for added measure.

After some more back-and-forth action, Hendry hit another Standing Ovation to Nemeth for the pinfall victory to become the new champion. Hendry celebrated his newly won title with his parents and the crowd as the show came to a close.

This was Hendry’s first ever TNA World Championship victory in his TNA career and his second championship victory, the other being the TNA Digital Media Championship.
