Chris Bey Neck Injury & Surgery Status Update
As noted before, Chris Bey has been out of action for TNA Wrestling since this past October due to a neck injury and surgery.
A recent episode of the 1 Of A Kind with RVD podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam provided an update on Bey’s current neck injury status and his belief that Bey will be able to make a full comeback from his injury.
“Chris Bey happens to live very close to us. Katie and I went and visited him because he made it home. He was stuck in the hospital for like two months. He had a match, if you don’t know, with the Hardy Boyz. I know very little about it, but they were going for a move that didn’t work out safely, and Chris broke his neck and then he was paralyzed.
I don’t know how much we should talk about, really, but let me just say that he’s going to wait until he’s ready to talk. Of course, I invited him on here. He is much better than I imagined and much better than he was when he was paralyzed. So, he’s not (paralyzed) anymore, and he’s getting everything back. He’s going to make a come back too, a full comeback, I’m sure of it but it’s going to be a long journey, and we’ll probably check in with him a lot because, like I said, he lives really close.”
RVD also stated that he spoke with Bey about Hayabusa suffering a broken neck injury in 2001 and also Darren “Droz” Drozdov’s injury in 1999. RVD also stated that he feels confident about Bey’s current health and future well-being.
I told him when Hayabusa would come around, and he was in the wheelchair, and he couldn’t move his limbs. I don’t know exactly if he could move his arms or not, regardless, I would have… I guess, the closest thing to can compare this feeling to would be survivor’s remorse. Like, ‘Why him? Like, why not me? How’s he looking at me taking those DDTs and all those crazy high-risk bumps? Is he looking at me like, ‘What an a–hole’? He doesn’t realize I can’t even f—king move anymore? ‘What does he need to stop it?’
That was part of the experience when I’d see Droz (Darren Drozdov) as well.
He’s got an awesome girlfriend to help him too. That’s really important
Brittnie Brooks, she’s a wrestler. She’s a sweetheart and she’s there helping him and I think moved in with him. That’s definitely going to be a big help.
I feel good about his current health and his future.”

Jeff Jarrett Comments on TNA Signing New Partnership Deal with WWE
As noted before, WWE and TNA Wrestling announced last week that they had recently signed a new multi-year partnership deal to continue the talent crossovers for their NXT and TNA television shows and events.
A recent episode of FOX Sports’ Fanrun Radio featured former TNA co-owner and current AEW talent Jeff Jarrett as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Jarrett’s thoughts about TNA’s recent new partnership extension deal with WWE.
“A wise man builds his house upon a rock. Way way back in the day, when TNA got started in 2002, that name and the branding was built, and it’s gone through a lot of evolutions. You kind of see what you built. My mindset, born and raised in the territory era, and when I launched Global Force, the collaborative effort of working together, the days of not really working together and that type mindset is so yesteryear and passe. At the end of the day, if you create a scenario where the wrestling fans win, we all win. At the very core of all of it, you have to figure out how you satisfy your customer, what a novel concept these days, but the customer is always right. If it’s good for the customer, it’s incumbent on the business to figure out how to adapt and make it work for the bottom line.”
