AOP, Paul Ellering, & Sonya Deville Released from WWE, Cedric Alexander’s Departure Confirmed to be Release [Update: Blair Davenport Also Released]

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in an update that his sources stated that Blair Davenport was also among those released by WWE on Friday.

Prior to her release, Davenport had been with WWE since June of 2021 and had been working for the SmackDown brand since her main roster call-up in April of 2024.

As noted before, Cedric Alexander announced on Friday that he is no longer with WWE. It was not known at the time if Alexander’s departure was due to him being released or his contract expiring.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources confirmed that Alexander’s departure was due to him being released by WWE.

Sapp reported that Alexander’s release was not the only one done tonight and instead was part of a new batch of talent releases.

Sapp also reported that those confirmed to have been released by WWE tonight so far includes Sonya Deville, AOP (Akam & Rezar), and Paul Ellering.

In regards to Deville’s release, Sapp reported that Deville had been informed by WWE officials that her contract would not be renewed. Deville’s contract reportedly is currently set to expire in a few weeks.

Prior to their releases, Deville had been with WWE since October of 2015. The Final Testament’s AOP had been with WWE since 2022 and Ellering had been with WWE since December of 2023 following a prior stint in the company from 2016 to 2020.
