More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for February 5th

The February 5th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a slight increase in overall viewership.

AEW drew 605,000 viewers and a 0.17 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was #15 place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increase this week was due to the small increase from their Over 50 demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given, and older male key demographic viewership group, which was up 11.1% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly mostly offset the declines from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 4.9% and 34.6% respectively compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known. AEW’s lead-in programming Big Bang Theory drew 944,000 viewers and a 0.12 rating.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the NBA game of San Antonio Spurs vs. Atlanta Hawks drew 1,187,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Duke vs. Syracuse drew 550,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College basketball game of Arkansas vs. Texas drew 412,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NHL game of Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers drew 478,000 viewers on TNT, The Challenge drew 247,000 viewers on MTV, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City drew 481,000 viewers on BRAVO, Sistas Series drew 655,000 viewers on BET, and My 600-LB Life drew 392,000 viewers on TLC.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 231,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 71.9% in favor of males.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 24.8% in overall viewership and down 24.8% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 52.2% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer reported that one main reason for the large declines is due to the unknown key demographic viewership migration on MAX compared to last year’s show.

More on AEW Collision Viewership for February 1st

The February 1st episode of AEW Collision saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and a small decline in key demographic ratings. That week’s show was notable for being a taped and not a live show and for also going head-to-head with WWE’s Royal Rumble 2025 event.

AEW drew 197,000 viewers and a 0.04 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was outside the Top 50.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines that week was due to a combination of the very stiff competition from WWE’s Royal Rumble event that night and the large decline from their overall key demographic viewership group, which was down 46.7% compared to the prior week’s show. AEW’s viewership and key demographic rating were the lowest for a Collision show in its normal timeslot in Collision series history. Meltzer reported that the viewership on MAX for the show is currently not known nor is it known how much of a factor it played in the all-time low numbers for a regular show. Meltzer also reported that AEW drew a very low 1.21 viewers per home average meaning most people who watched the show had watched it alone.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks drew 2,514,000 viewers on ABC, the College basketball game of UConn vs. Marquette drew 770,000 viewers on FOX, the College basketball game of North Carolina vs. Duke drew 2,290,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Arkansas vs. Kentucky drew 1,936,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Texas Tech vs. Houston drew 641,000 viewers on ESPN2, the NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying 2025 Cookout Clash event drew 848,000 viewers on FS1, On Patrol Live drew 598,000 viewers on REELZ Channel, and My 600-Lb. Life Super Sized drew 228,000 viewers on TLC.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 49,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 7,000 viewers (down 66.7%), Females 18-34 had 7,000 viewers (down 30%), Males 35-49 had 30,000 viewers (down 44.4%), and Females 35-49 had 5,000 viewers (down 28.6%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s males/female viewership split was 75.5% in favor of males.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 51.2% in overall viewership and down 68.8% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 key demographic viewership was down 72% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer reported that one main reason for the large declines is due to last year’s show did not go up against WWE’s Royal Rumble event.

AEW Collision quarter hour viewership breakdowns were:
