As noted before, this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2025 show in Hoffman Estates, Illinois featured Swerve Strickland issuing a challenge to The Elite, Death Riders, & Gabe Kidd to an Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW’s Double or Nothing 2025 event on May 25th in Glendale, Arizona.
Strickland did not specify exactly who from The Elite, Death Riders, and Kidd would be competing for their team nor which members from himself, The Opps, Kenny Omega, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Willow Nightingale would be competing for his team.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that AEW officials current plan for this year’s Anarchy in the Arena match is to be Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale, Kenny Omega, & The Opps (Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir), Gabe Kidd, & The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson).
Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that Katsuyori Shibata and Claudio Castagnoli could be added to their respective sides as well for the lead-up to the match and event.
In regards to the involvement between Bailey and Okada during the big brawl at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show, Sapp reported that those spoken to had implied to him that Bailey and Okada would be facing off against each other for the Continental Championship at Double or Nothing 2025. Those spoken to reportedly stated that it would not be “unrealistic” to see them involved in the Anarchy in the Arena match later in the evening.
In regards to the status of HOOK and Wheeler Yuta, Sapp reported that neither were mentioned to him for AEW’s current plans for the match. Sapp speculated that there is nothing that would keep them from being involved in the match if they are available.
