As noted, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque had stated in an interview with The Pat McAfee Show this past January that Smackdown’s move to being a weekly three-hour show was not a permanent move.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that there has been recent talk within WWE of SmackDown moving back to being a weekly two-hour show on June 6th.
Meltzer reported that it was expected that at the end of May SmackDown would be moving back to its prior runtime length for shows. Meltzer also reported that this planned date has yet to be set in stone but it is something that is expected to be finalized this week.
