Charlotte Flair Comments on Her Feeling Women Will Never be the Final Match at WrestleMania Again Unless It Goes Back to One Night
A recent episode of Julian Edleman’s Games With Names podcast featured Charlotte Flair as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Flair’s thoughts about her current belief that a women’s match will never be the final match at a WWE WrestleMania event again unless it goes back to being a one night show.
“And it was the main event of only one night. Now we have two nights… So it’s a big deal. Now you have two nights, two different opportunities, so, that being the main event of one night was huge, and it’ll never happen again, unless we go to one night.
We would have not main evented WrestleMania had it not been for Ronda (Rousey). Hands down. When she wanted to kind of join what we had already started to build but her star power, her credibility, her outside influence, the audience that she brought. Kudos to her. I know that, you know, someone said in her book that she couldn’t wrestle but at the end of the day, it really didn’t matter. She was Ronda and she didn’t need to. She had such an aura to her and really did figure it out and brought that much to the table so, I thank her for what she did for us, because, she didn’t have to come wrestle. She’d already done it all and it was real. So she just added that legitimacy to what we were trying to do that we didn’t have and she caught on.”
Flair also gave her thoughts about her triple threat match with Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch that main evented WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
“I hated our ‘Mania (35) match. She (Ronda Rousey) liked it, I hated it… The ending. It’s all about the story. The match… But the story. The story was insane.”

Carlito Comments on His WWE Release & His Belief Triple H Liked Him Personally But Not His Character
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured former WWE talent Carlito as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Carlito’s thoughts about his reaction when he was told earlier this month he was being released from WWE.
“I wasn’t too surprised or too shocked. I signed for two years, and it actually went better than I thought it would go. The only thing is, I’m a professional, you know what I mean? They could have told me and I would have, you know, ‘Ok, at least let me finish up the story for The Judgment Day, so they can keep on going.’ I think it’s a disrespect to the fans that they just dropped the storylines.
But, honestly, I just felt worse for Truth. I mean, if it wasn’t a work, I felt worse for Truth. There’s certain guys that I think they should have a proper sendoff. Sure, everybody’s time comes, right? You can’t keep everybody forever, but at least some deserve a proper sendoff. So I was glad to see things work out for him.”
Carltio also gave his thoughts about the differences between his first run from 2003 to 2010 and his most recent second run in WWE.
“I don’t mean to knock on Vince [McMahon], but, you know, he seemed to have his certain things you have to do this way and the next day it changed, whatever, you know, certain rules, just stupidity. They liked people walking around on eggshells. Because it was the only game in town and they liked the boys knowing that, you know what I mean? I think now that with AEW being around too, it’s helped. They cant — they know they can’t bully because there’s other places for people to go. That’s added to it.
But I think Hunter’s done a good job too of just cleaning all that crap out. Plus, it’s just a new generation, you just can’t get away with certain things you could before, you know what I mean? And I just like that a bunch of that BS is gone now. People just go there, show up, and do their work.”
Carlito also gave his thoughts about his role in Judgement Day as a comedic character and his belief that WWE Paul “Triple H” Levesque liked him personally but was not a big fan of his character in the company.
“I orchestrated that. Some people were complaining, ‘They have him as an idiot,’ but those were all my ideas. I took, literally, ‘creative has nothing for you,’ and I made something of it. I went in there and I said, ‘I’m not going to complain.’ I’m one of the older guys, I’m not going to get prioritized and I’m not gonna get pushed, and Hunter [Triple H] is not a fan of Carlito. I think he personally likes me, but I think he was never a big fan of the character. What I did was, ‘I’m in the Judgment Day, it’s the hottest group here, how can I stay in this group? Boom. This is what it’s missing.’ The writers were great, they gave me a bunch of freedom. They would come to me and say, ‘We have this backstage (segment), we don’t really have anything for you here, but we were hoping you would Carlito-fy it,’ is what they would say. I would find where I could do something. It took off from there and every week it was great. They gave me total freedom to do whatever I wanted.”

Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update
As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January of 2024 against former TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Grant filed a new amended lawsuit this past February detailing new evidence and claims against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, WWE, and others. Laurinaitis was officially dismissed from the lawsuit this past May in return for Laurinaitis helping to provide evidence for Grant’s case against McMahon.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that McMahon and WWE each filed new motions on June 13th before The United States District Court of Connecticut seeking to push the lawsuit into private arbitration.
Johnson reported that Grant’s attorneys will have until July 11th to respond to the new motions.
