Jon Moxley & AEW Lawsuit Over Claims of Civil Assault, Battery, & Negligence from 2023 AEW Dynamite Show Incident Update – Judge Denies AEW Motion to File Information About Its Ownership Under Seal

As noted before, former contracted AEW production crew member Christopher Dispensa filed a lawsuit this past May against Jon Moxley and AEW over claims of Moxley had committed civil assault and battery and AEW had committed general negligence against him over an incident at an AEW Dynamite show in 2023.

Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that the presiding judge issued a ruling on Tuesday denying AEW’s motion to file information about its ownership under seal.

Thurston reported that AEW is trying to establish diversity of jurisdiction to get the lawsuit case out of Michigan state court and into federal court instead.

Thurston also reported that AEW is also trying to keep details of its ownership private due to the underlying parent is Beatnik Investments LLC, which is a Khan-owned LLC and is controlled by two trusts based on other records.

The judge reportedly rejected AEW’s arguments and is giving them seven days to or file the same information unsealed or else the case will be sent back to state court.

In a recent interview with the Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze podcast, Samoa Joe gave his thoughts about Gabe Kidd, Jay White, and Eddie Kingston are among the names in wrestling that he feels can replicate his intensity on the microphone. Joe stated “I think there’s a lot, man. Intensity wise, I’ve got to be honest, I’ve been watching or studying a little nemesis coming over here, Gabe Kidd. I think he’s a tremendous young man who’s got kind of the right edge to him. I think it could work out for him. [Intensity] is an under-appreciated commodity in this world that, that real visceral mean intensity which I can always appreciate. I think people like Jay White, that’s another guy that I think had got this kind of neat persona. I know he can kind of hit that promo vibe pretty well and stuff. There’s just a lot, there’s a lot of young talent out there. I think when you talk about authenticity, I think you’re getting a very real opinion from Eddie. If you know Eddie, it’s not too far off from where he genuinely feels. A lot of it too is because he feels passionate about these things, you know? He’s speaking about things that he does feel some type of way about. I think it’s very rare that you have people who are able to tap into that real emotion that they feel inside and be able to craft it and get it out there and communicate to people how that feeling is and have them feel the same way. That’s really the hallmark of that.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
