As noted before, Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury during his match against LA Knight on Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that Rollins injury resulted in the last 40 minutes of Saturday’s SNME show being changed on the fly. Alvarez reported that there was a segment planned for later in the show that did not happen as a result of Rollins’ injury situation.
In regards to the status of Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase, Alvarez reported that Rollins has until next June to cash in so even with surgery and a long-term recovery, he could return before that storyline deadline.
In a follow-up report, Alvarez and Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that those spoken to within WWE are currently under the belief that Rollins injury is legitimate and a serious one. Alvarez reported that there are some people within WWE who would be upset if they found out that Rollins injury was just a work injury and some people are currently skeptical of it being legitimate.
Meltzer reported that most people spoken to also are under the impression that Rollins’ injury is legitimate but one very trusted source believed differently. This source reportedly stated “don’t go so strong on the idea that it is real at all” due to them hearing about a potential injury angle this past Thursday.
