WWE RAW Notes: Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY vs. Naomi for Women’s World Title, Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch for Women’s IC Title, and CM Punk vs. Gunther for WWE World Title Matches Set for SummerSlam, Women’s World Title Match Set for Clash in Paris, Roman Reigns Surprise Return

Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY vs. Naomi for WWE Women’s World Title Announced for SummerSlam 2025

Monday’s WWE RAW show at the Legacy Arena At The BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama featured the first of three new matches announced for the card of SummerSlam 2025.

This new match announced was a WWE Women’s World Championship Triple Threat match of Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY vs. Naomi (c).

This match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Naomi, Ripley, and SKY that quickly turned heated over the way Naomi won the title at Evolution 2. This led to RAW GM Adam Pearce coming out and congratulated Naomi for her title win and her officially joining the RAW brand. Pearce then announced that Naomi would be defending her title against Ripley and SKY at SummerSlam.


Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch for WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Announced for SummerSlam 2025

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the second of three new matches announced for the card of SummerSlam 2025.

This new match was a WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match of Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch (c).

This new match was setup following Valkyria defeating Bayley in a #1 Contender 2-out-of-3 Falls match.


WWE Women’s World Title Match Set for Clash In Paris

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured one newly updated match for the card of Clash In Paris, which takes place on August 31st at the Paris La Dรฉfense Arena in Nanterre, France.

This newly updated match was a WWE Women’s World Championship match of Stephanie Vaquer vs. winner of Rhea Ripley/IYO SKY/Naomi (c).

This newly updated match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Vaquer. During the interview, Jackie Redmond confirmed that Vaquer will be competing for the Women’s World title at Clash in Paris after earning the shot for winning the Women’s Battle Royal match at Evolution 2.

CM Punk vs. Gunther for WWE World Title Championship Announced for WWE SummerSlam 2025

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the third of three new matches announced for the card of SummerSlam 2025, which takes place on August 2-3 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

This new match announced was a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match of CM Punk vs. Gunther (c).

This new match was setup following CM Punk defeating Penta, LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Bron Breakker in a #1 Contender’s Gauntlet match.

Roman Reigns Makes Surprise Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Roman Reigns making his surprise return.

Following CM Punk’s victory over Bron Breakker to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender Gauntlet match, Punk stared down and jawed at Gunther who was seated in a luxury box. This led to “Big” Bronson Reed attacking Punk from behind and Breakker joining in on teh beat down. This led to Jey Uso trying to save Punk to no avail and both Uso and Punk being stacked together for Reed to hit a Tsunami. Before that could happen, Reigns’ music played and he came out making his surprise return heading to the ring. Reigns proceeded to lay out both Reed and Breaker clearing the ring of them.

Reigns then helped up Uso to his feet and two shook hands. Reigns then looked on Punk who slowly got up as the show ended with the crowd chant signing “Roman Reigns.”

This was Reigns’ first appearance since this past Aprilโ€™s RAW After Mania show.
