As noted before, Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of 2025 and he has been absent from the company since this past April. During his time away, Jericho had reached out to WWE about a potential return to the company once his contract with AEW expires.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the current belief is that Jericho will likely be leaving AEW for WWE once his contract expires.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials have offered Jericho a retirement storyline and those spoken to stated that is something they would be interested in doing for him if he returns to the company.
Meltzer also reported that others within WWE currently expect him to be back in the company in early 2026 but nothing is confirmed at the moment.
