Andrade El Idolo Comments on If Divorce from Charlotte Flair Led to His WWE Exit
As noted before, Andrade El Idolo was released from WWE this past September that was later revealed to have been him being fired instead due to issues related to a failed Wellness Policy test. Andrade has been under a one-year non-compete clause that was enacted following his return to AEW this past October and causing him to be absent from the company since then.
El Ring held a recent interview with Andrade. One of the topics discussed included Andrade’s thoughts about if his divorce from Charlotte Flair in October of 2024 led to his departure from WWE.
“When I returned to WWE, they treated me well. I have nothing bad to say. Triple H always treated me well. Everyone received me well.
And then she got injured. After that we started having some problems, and then the divorce came.
A lot of people ask whether she had anything to do with me leaving WWE. It had nothing to do with that, nothing at all. Not that she talked to the company or said ‘fire him’ or anything like that.
I respect her. She was an incredible woman. She was a great wife. I wish her the best.
I admit it, as a person and as a man, I was the one who failed in the relationship. I can’t speak badly about her. She’s an incredible woman and I wish her the best.”
