As noted before, Powerhouse Hobbs’ contract with AEW expired on January 15th and departed the company and recently signed with WWE.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that Hobbs had recently signed an official contract with WWE.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Hobbs’ decision to leave AEW and join WWE was about doing what was best for his family which would indicate that he got a better monetary deal from WWE for his new contract.
In regards to the reaction within AEW, Meltzer reported that nobody spoken to within AEW had anything negative to say about Hobbs and his decision to leave the company for WWE.
