Copeland & Cage Accepts FTR’s I Quit Stip for AEW World Tag Titles at Double or Nothing 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia featured one new match set for the card of Double or Nothing 2026, which takes place on May 24th at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new match set was an AEW World Tag Team Championship New York Street Fight I Quit match of Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) (c).

This new match was setup over recent weeks shows over Cage & Cope and FTR’s bad blood issues with each other. Both teams also issued seprate stipulations for their match with Copeland issuing a New York Street Fight stip and FTR responding issuing an I Quit stip. During tonight’s show, Renee Paquette interviewed Copeland and Cage backstage to get their response to FTR’s challenge. Cage talked about his injured arm feeling fine enough after FTR’s recent chair attack. Copeland and Cage then accepted FTR’s I quit stip for their tag titles match at Double or Nothing.

Later in the show, it was confirmed that this match and its stipulations were made official for Double or Nothing.

Will Ospreay Accepts Jon Moxley’s Offer To Train With Death Riders & Unlock a New Tougher Version of Himself

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Will Ospreay accepting Jon Moxley’s offer to train with the Death Riders to unlock a new tougher version of himself.

This was initially setup over this past week’s AEW shows over Death Riders saving Ospreay from a post-match attack by Mark Davis and hauling him away to some place backstage to make him an offer to work with them and in return, Moxley would help unlock a new version of himself. During tonight’s show, the Death Riders were seen in a basement room leading to Ospreay showing up. Moxley asked Ospreay if he was cleared. Ospreay responded back stating that he wasn’t but it won’t stop him going to Japan for a big title match coming up for his United Empire boys. Moxley responded stating that likes the sound of that and told Ospreay to drop everything he’s been holding and all that excess baggage including whatever feelings he has against him. Ospreay responded accepting Moxley’s offer and walked away to where Claudio Castagonli and the rest of the Death Riders were standing in the room. Ospreay asked Moxley where the ring is, which Moxley responded back telling him there is no ring. As Castagnoli took off his shirt to prepare to train with Ospreay, Moxley looked at the camera and said the rest is proprietary and covered the camera with his hands.


Swerve Strickland Makes Surprise Video Return Appearance

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Swerve Strickland making a surprise video return appearance.

During the show, a vignette aired showing a mystery a man walking in a Western town with people laying around beaten up. This mystery person walked out of a saloon and went up to a poster of Bandido on the ground and picked it up. This led to Prince Nana showing up and handed this person a lighter, who was revealed to be Strickland. Strickland then proceeded to light the poster on fire and stared into the camera.

This was Strickland’s first appearance since his loss to Kenny Omega in an AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s match this past March.


Samoa Joe Offers Ospreay Spot In The Opps

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Samoa Joe offering Will Ospreay a membership spot in The Opps.

This was setup during a backstage interview with The Opps’ Joe, HOOK, Anthony Bowens, & Katsuyori Shibata. Joe addressing each member of the group and their plans in AEW. Joe then turned his attention towards Ospreay and him hanging out with the Death Riders. Joe talked about if Ospreay can really trust the Death Riders considering their past issues and how he was the one who was there to help Ospreay with his issues with the group. Joe then made an offer to Ospreay to join The Opps instead.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured two new matches announced for the card of next week’s AEW Dynamite show on May 6th at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Current Card for This Week’s AEW Collision Show

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured five new matches announced for the card of this week’s AEW Collision show on May 2nd at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Among the notable new matches announced was a TBS Championship match of Anna Jay vs. Willow Nightingale (c). This will be Jay’s first match and appearance since this past November.
