Pat McAfee Comments on “The Business Doesn’t Need Saving After All” & He “Finished My Story”
This past Saturday’s WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event in Las Vegas, Nevada featured Cody Rhodes defeating Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. This match was notable for Pat McAfee proclaiming in the build up to it that he would completely leave the wrestling business if Orton somehow was unable to defeat Rhodes at WrestleMania 42.
Monday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show featured host-McAfee confirming that he is officially leaving the wrestling business and stated that “the business doesn’t need saving after all.”
“Though the mission was supposed to be Randy Orton saving the business, what happened instead is, Cody Rhodes proved he is the one. The good news is, the business doesn’t need to be saved after all. Good for them. For me, I finished my story. I came up on the indies. IWA East Coast. I went through development, NXT. I was a wrestler, trained by Rip Rogers. Get to WWE. Commentator, pre-shows, wrestled, reffed, managed. Lucky to do all of that. It’s been a hell of a run. Thank you, wrestling.”
McAfee also gave his thoughts about Orton hitting him with an RKO during the match after he came back out in a referee shirt after the original referee was taken out with an RKO.
“Maybe he didn’t know it was me. [But] it felt like he knew.”

Kabuki Warriors Reveal They Were on Standby for The Bellas for WrestleMania 42
As noted before, WWE had considered backup plans for The Kabuki Warriors to replace The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella) for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-way match at WrestleMania 42 due to Nikki’s ankle injury situation. These plans were eventually not used and instead Paige made a surprise return and replaced Nikki for Brie’s tag team partner.
NeitroV held a recent interview with The Kabuki Warriors’ Asuka and Kairi Sane. One of the topics discussed included the Kabuki Warriors confirming the rumors and reports of the plans of them being the potential replacements for The Bellas. This interview was held prior to this past Saturday’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event.
Kairi Sane – Rumor has it that Nikki Bella’s ankle hasn’t fully recovered yet.
Asuka – Right, right! We were told we might be able to fill in for that match, so we were on standby just in case.
Kairi – The chances aren’t zero yet, right?
Asuka – Exactly. It might still be possible, so we’re staying ready and waiting.
Kairi – We’ve actually prepared brand new ring gear just for WrestleMania
