Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that Game Changer Wrestling recently held discussions with AEW.
Sapp reported that he had recently contacted GCW owner Brett Lauderdale who acknowledged Triller’s current serious financial issues but so far they have been exempt from that and the relationship between the two companies remains strong.
Sapp also reported that Lauderdale did confirm that he has had discussions with AEW about GCW possibly appearing on the MyAEW service in the future. Sapp also reported that no other details regarding these talks were provided.
Sapp also reported that Lauderdale confirmed that he had spoken to AEW CEO Tony Khan directly but this was not recently nor was it about MyAEW. Lauderdale reportedly had stated that this conversation took place briefly at a UFC show years ago.
AEW had filed a lawsuit against TrillerTV this past April over claims of overdue payments to the amount of almost $5 million owed for AEW pay-per-view events and AEW Plus service revenues on the platform. AEW had launched their MyAEW service this past April for their international markets that was meant to be AEW’s replacement for their now discontinued AEW+ service on TrillerTV due to Triller dealing with serious financial-related issues.
