Matt Hardy on TNA Changing Start Time of Slammiversary 2026 To Avoid AEW Forbidden Door 2026 Being The”Right Move” and Mike Santana Potentially Leaving TNA for WWE

A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy giving his thoughts about TNA Wrestling recently moving the start time of their upcoming Slammiversary 2026 event on June 28th to an afternoon start in order to avoid going head-to-head with AEW’s Forbidden Door 2026 event that same day.

“TNA announces Slammiversary, then Forbidden Door is announced…we move earlier in that day, which is the right move for us, no doubt, we’re going on at four. Then all of a sudden, there’s NXT. There’s going to be three premium live events, what a night!”

Hardy also gave his thoughts about current TNA World Champion Mike Santana’s expiring contract situation in TNA and the rumors of him potentially leaving TNA and going to WWE once his contract expires.

“I mean that, that, that wouldn’t surprise me. I would guess that’s probably Mike Santana’s ultimate goal [is] to work for WWE. You know, most kids who grew up loving wrestling, their goal is to work for WWE at some point, have a WrestleMania moment, whatever else. That [him going to WWE] wouldn’t shock me at all.”
