As noted before, TNA Head of Talent Relations and booker Tommy Dreamer departed from TNA Wrestling this past Wednesday. Dreamer’s departure was later confirmed by TNA to be part of a larger workplace reductions taking place within the company.
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured co-host Dreamer giving his thoughts about his recent departure from TNA and his claims that he had tried to build a culture in the company that will now be changed a lot, implying for the worse.
“It’s my job to get you where you wanna go and if another company doesn’t want you, then it’s my job to keep this place going — it’s not my job anymore — I tried building a culture and I can’t worry about that anymore, because it is all gonna change, and I hope everyone realizes how much it’s gonna change.”
Dreamer also gave his thoughts about if he was still in TNA, then M By Elegance would probably be his “top girl”star for the company by 2027.
“I look at Heather and M by Elegance, those two women are stars. If I was there, Maggie (Lee) would probably be the top girl in the company by next year, just because she’s so good in the ring and when Ash (by Elegance) left, Maggie stepped up, and so did Heather, and I love that whole dynamic where meeting Mr. Elegance on an indie and this kid’s really good… Looking for a guy to be part of this group because I also think The Personal Concierge is really good at his job…”
Dreamer also gave his thoughts about the decision to not have Mike Santana win the TNA World Championship in his hometown at TNA Slammiversary 2025.
“Mike Santana’s story. I’m so close with Mike, and his daughter and his family, and when I talk about the internet, everyone wanted Mike to win at Slammiversary and it’s cool. Then who do you face at Bound For Glory? And when Bound For Glory beat Slammiversary in attendance, you know you made the right decision. It’s so easy to make everybody happy. But you also have to make people mad to get you to where you wanna go, and then when you draw more people, it’s like, you did your job right, and no one’s gonna give you that credit for it. It’s a thankless job, but I’m thanked by the people and their text messages.”
Following the release of the episode, False Finish reported that their sources within TNA refuted the claims made by Dreamer.
Those spoken to within TNA reportedly stated that Dreamer did not want to build contenders and had control of who got pushed.
In regards to Dreamer’s comments about TNA’s culture, those same sources reportedly stated that they believe that the culture will change for the better now that Dreamer is gone. Those spoken to reportedly stated that the booking and creative wasn’t good and change was needed, especially with TNA moving to a bigger platform of AMC this year.
In regards to Dreamer’s claims that Santana not winning the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary 2025 led to an attendance increase for Bound For Glory 2025, False Finish’s Gerard reported that one source within TNA strongly refuted Dreamer’s claim. This same source reportedly stated that it was not Dreamer’s booking of the event and instead it was the nostalgia of the retirement match between The Hardys and Team 3D that was the real reason for the record attendance for Bound For Glory. This same source reportedly stated that TNA had moved 3,500 from that match before anything else was announced.
